PASTOR’S CORNER
PRAY THE ROSARY DAILY. Offer this spiritual bouquet of roses to Mary, on Mothers’ Day and on all
days. Next to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the
Sacraments, praying the rosary often, even daily, has
been and is, one of the most effective spiritual disciplines for deepening conversion, and overcoming temptation, sin and evil, in the lives of serious disciples. This
has been especially true in the lives of canonized saints
for the last eight centuries. At the heart of the rosary is a
meditation on principal mysteries of our salvation. The
repetition of the Lord’s Prayer, the Glory be, and the
Hail Mary can be used by the Holy Spirit to help us focus on the meaning of the words and events in salvation
history. This is a powerful aid for what St. Paul calls
“the renewal of your mind” (Romans 12:2). The Holy
Spirit can also draw us into accepting the gift of contemplative prayer where-in the rhythm and repetition of the
words begin to act like a background music for the
soul’s deepening love-union with God. God’s primordial
gift of personhood and free-will to every human being is
what makes LOVE possible. Since “GOD IS LOVE” (1
John 4: 8), the receiving of divine SELF-GIFT, and the
sharing of human self-gifts, is what salvation history is
all about. When we freely respond to the Father and Jesus’ SELF-GIFT of the Holy Spirit, who comes to us in
manifold ways, we gradually experience being
“transformed from glory to glory into His very likeness” (2 Corinthians 3:18). From the greatest intellectual and mystic to the smallest child, praying the daily rosary has proven itself to be a simple and powerful means
for growth in holiness – the peace, joy and fulfillment of
total communion with God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit
and with one another. Therefore, for your own sake, and
for the sake of us all, PRAY THE ROSARY DAILY.

ARE YOU CALLED TO BE A DEACON?
One of the great legacies of the Second Vatican Council was its renewal and encouragement of the order of permanent deacons
throughout the entire Catholic Church. A
deacon is ordained by the Bishop to minister
to the needy and the poor, and to be a minister of Word and Sacrament. While all Christians are called to serve others, the deacon is
an official sign of this service, and through his receiving the
sacrament of Holy Orders, he solemnly promises to be a living
example of such service for others. An ordained permanent
deacon reaches out to be of service in the Church, and in this
way, incarnates the presence of Jesus in his church, his family,

RINCÓN DEL PÁRROCO
RECEN EL ROSARIO DIARIAMENTE. Ofrezcan este
ramo espiritual de rosas a María, el Día de la Madre y todos los días. Junto al Santo Sacrificio de la
Misa y de los Sacramentos, rezar el rosario a menudo,
incluso a diario, ha sido y es, una de las disciplinas espirituales más eficaces para profundizar la conversión y
superar la tentación, el pecado y el mal, en las vidas de
los discípulos serios. Esto ha sido especialmente cierto
en las vidas de los santos canonizados durante los últimos ocho siglos. En el corazón del rosario está una meditación sobre los principales misterios de nuestra salvación. La repetición del Padre Nuestro, el Gloria y el
Ave María pueden ser usadas por el Espíritu Santo para
ayudarnos a enfocarnos en el significado de las palabras y eventos en la historia de la salvación. Esta es una
ayuda poderosa para lo que San Pablo llama “la renovación de tu mente” (Romanos 12:2). El Espíritu Santo

AUTO-REGALO de Jesús del Espíritu Santo, que viene a
nosotros de muchas maneras, poco a poco experimentamos el ser “transformados de gloria en gloria en su
misma semejanza” (2 Corintios 3:18). Desde el más
grande intelectual y místico hasta el niño más pequeño,
rezar el rosario a diario ha demostrado ser un medio
simple y poderoso para crecer en santidad; la paz, la
alegría y el cumplimiento de la comunión total con
Dios, Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo y con unos y otros.
Por lo tanto, por tu propio bien, y por el bien de todos
nosotros, REZA EL ROSARIO DIARIAMENTE.
