Some think of April 15 as
income tax day, but to the Ronald
McDonald Care Mobile Program,
it was a wish come true day.
Thanks to the generous donation
of a used Basin Electric Power
Cooperative van, the staff now
have a new van to replace the old
one also previously donated the
Basin. Ted Cash, manager of
Media and Support Services for
Basin, personally delivered the
van to the Care Mobile staff.
Staff travel many miles each year
providing dental services to
underserved children in western
North Dakota. Our old van had
traveled thousands of miles and
needed more repairs. The van
allows the staff to travel
together in one vehicle and
carry supplies at the same time
which makes our operation
more efficient and cost
effective.
Dubbed the “Tooth Taxi”, the
van brings smiles to many
children but also to travelers on
the highway. “We are very
grateful for the support Basin
Electric has once again
provided to the Care Mobile
Program,” says Kathy Keiser,
executive director of Ronald
McDonald House Charities of
Bismarck.
On May 15, 2015 Cindy Arnold
and Katie Fitzsimmons,
participants in the Center for
Technology and Business
Women’s Leadership Program
presented Ronald McDonald
House Charities $4,700 in
funding and donated dental
home care supplies for the
Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.
The fund raiser was held at
Cherry Berry on April 27, 2015.
Thank you for your generous
support!

The Oral Health America,
Smiles Across America Grant
donated electric toothbrushes to
the Ronald McDonald Care
Mobile. Staff provide oral health
education instruction and these
brushes to many high school
students to encourage good daily
home care routines. We try to
make daily brushing easy for the
students in order to promote
lifelong habits for good oral
health.
