Drifters Game Lodge Customer Review
Where do I start??!! Drifters Game Lodge camp is one of South Africa's hidden jewels!
We stayed here for 4 days and we had an amazing time! From the moment we arrived,
we were made to feel as if nothing was a problem. It did not matter if it was early, early
in the morning or late at night, the staff always had a wonderful smile.
The food - "wow" that was something else, the best we ever ate! Each meal was a
gourmet experience equal to any you would get in a first class restaurant & there was

The Kruger National Park
Renowned worldwide due to the struggle for survival from Kruger (Battle at Kruger),
Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that rivals the best in Africa. Founded in
1898 in order to protect the South African fauna and flora, the park covers no more than
2 million acres and houses a huge diversity of wildlife.
Remnants of early hominids can be seen here, from the rock paintings and
archaeological sites as Masorini Thulamela. These real cultural treasures are preserved,
along with flora and fauna using innovative techniques and management policies that
have brought international recognition to the park administration.
The area considered a true heaven for thousands of years for South African hunters and
gatherers, the Kruger National Park has become today one of the largest and most
famous nature reserves in the world. The park has a length of 360 kilometers from north
to south and 64 kilometers from east to west. A huge and exciting stretch where visitors
can witness the full spectacle of wildlife.
In fact, one of the most popular videos that have ever been posted on You Tube, Battle
at Kruger, was recorded in this park. No less than 6 national ecosystems are found
throughout the reserve, where can be found 1982 species of plants, 517 species of birds,
147 species of mammals (including the 5 Giant of Africa: lion, elephant, rhino, leopard
and African buffalo) and 114 species of reptiles, including crocodiles 3000. The true
emblem of the South African Reserve also can boast other impressive numbers: 336
species of trees, 49 species of fish.
At the Kruger there can be found 350 African wild dogs as well, a specie of which exists
within South Africa territory less than 400 copies. The park owns a huge “family” of
elephants, about 12,000 copies, and this despite the fact that the reserve cannot sustain
more than 8000 such mammals .The Kruger National Park is also one of the most
popular tourist destinations of South Africa which comes with 21 camps and 15 lodges
for safari enthusiasts.

Wind through South Africa's fertile valleys, prized for their renowned
vintages, and discover the rustic beauty of sprawling estates shaded
by giant oaks and rows of vines running as far as the eye can see.
Travel the country's principal wine route to Paarl, Stellenbosch and
Franschhoek, and enjoy tastings at some of the excellent vineyards
along the way. Begin with the "Pearl of Paarl" and visit one of the
local estates to enjoy a wine tasting and cellar tour. Then continue
northwest to the old, scenic village of Franschhoek, founded near the
Drakenstein Mountains in 1688 by French immigrants, whose
descendants eventually supplied highly sought after wine to
Napolean, Bismark, and even King Edward VII. Next, stop for lunch,
on own account and then it is off to another wine tasting. Lastly,
travel to Stellenbosch, South Africa's second oldest town and the historic heart of the
country's wine region. First recognized as an ideal location for vineyards in 1679, viticulture
has been entwined with the town's history ever since. Also of interest is the town's
fascinating variety of architecture, including buildings in Cape Dutch, Georgian, and Victorian
styles. Enjoy a final tasting before bidding farewell to the wine country and returning to Cape
Town.

towering escarpment with lush indigenous forests, crystal-clear streams and
plunging waterfalls, and then falling away into the flat Lowveld bushveld, home
to one of the richest diversities of fauna and flora in the world. Well known
private reserves and the renowned Kruger National Park are located in this area.
We spend time both in the Park and on our own adjacent private reserve. Being
privately owned we are able to conduct game walks and open vehicle game
drives on our property. On the Balule Lodge Safari you will stay at Drifters Game

Founded in 1898 the park covers more than 2 million acres and houses a huge

National Park defines the city. The flat-topped mountain is the headline act, but
there are many other equally gorgeous natural landscapes within the park’s
extensive boundaries. Cultivated areas, such as the historic Company’s Gardens,
Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and Green Point Park, also make exploring the
city a pleasure. Follow the lead of locals by taking full advantage of the abundant
outdoor space: learn to surf; go hiking or mountain biking; tandem-paraglide off
Lion’s Head; abseil off the top of Table Mountain – just a few of the many
activities on offer.

how to identify the ferocious little Antlion and
the Giant Rhinoceros Beetle. For the more
adventurous we encourage game walks under
the guidance of an armed ranger or you may
choose one of our open-vehicle drives.
Animals encountered during your stay are in a
totally wild and natural environment, and good
game sightings are guaranteed. We are
especially proud of our abundant birdlife,
which is attracted by the riverine forest.
