1 Thunder Road. Game Starts at 7 PM
We have 1,000 free tickets for this baseball game. First come, first
serve. You must be registered within our Recreation database to
receive tickets. Limit four tickets per household. Additional tickets
can be purchased for $8.00 each at the Trenton Thunder Stadium;
please mention “Capital City Day” for discount pricing.
End of Summer Extravaganza
Thursday, August 25th @ Cadwalader Park on Parkside Ave
10:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Please join us at Cadwalader Park for a fun-filled day. All children and
adults must register for this event. A BBQ lunch will be served. Duane
“D” West, founder and CEO of Pro Athletes, Inc., On-Air Personality
and former AFL player, Florida Bobcats #42, will provide a Back to
School Empowerment Workshop. Sign-up today!

The Division of Recreation has three community centers. Throughout
the summer we will offer events and programs at the locations listed
below, Monday - Friday 1PM - 8PM, and Saturdays from 10AM -1PM.

Swimming Program
The swimming program provides ongoing instructional lessons in
basic water safety, competitive swimming strokes, lifeguard
training, C.P.R. and first aid.

The City of Trenton Lifeguard staff has met the criteria for the
American Red Cross lifeguard certification, including C.P.R.

Martin Luther King pool is ADA compliant and equipped with a
chair lift and staff trained to assist those with special needs.

From Our Mayor
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the 2016 Summer In the Capital
City programs and events, sponsored by The
City of Trenton. Our series includes our Summer Camp in the
Park, Summer Food Service Program, Lunch Concert Series and
Movies Under the Stars. In addition, we have our newest
programs Capital City Street Fests, Work Out Wednesdays and
many other special events.
We continue to invest in our community, and with that in mind,
the Division of Recreation has planned a very comprehensive
set of activities for the summer.
On behalf of the dedicated staff that has made Summer in the
Capital City programs and events possible, I hope you and your
family have a blessed, enjoyable and safe summer!

Summer Camp In the Park
Let’s Read Let’s Move
The Summer Camp in the Park program engages youth in
constructive, structured activities Monday thru Friday. This
program runs from 9 AM -3 PM for nine weeks, from June 27th
through August 26th. The staff implements a thematic curriculum to
provide youth with a fun-filled summer of learning. Participants
receive a free, nutritious breakfast and lunch daily, two camp
t-shirts and weekly trips every Friday. Our summer camp is free but
cost of trips is $70.00 per child for the entire summer. This program
is geared towards ages 5-12. All children must register for this
program and provide proof of residency in the City of Trenton.

Hill Park within the City of Trenton every Thursday during July
and August. Talented musicians are featured performing a
variety of musical genres such as jazz, blues, R&B, Latin, etc.

Movies Under the Stars
The Movies Under the Stars provides safe outdoor movies for
children and families. Before every movie we will have a Capital
City Street Fest with safe neighborhood-based recreational
activities for everyone. The program will run during the months of
July and August from 6:30 PM to 10 PM.
