Using Positive Principles to Tame Toxicity
in the Workplace
Jo Manion, PhD, Manion & Associates
Every leader has to tackle it at one time or another… toxicity
and negativity from the staff. While you’re focusing on creating a
positive, healthy work environment and getting everyone rowing
in the same direction, chronic complainers, whiners, slackers and
bullies are sucking the energy from those around them and being
counterproductive to your efforts. This session will focus on positive
principles and practical leadership interventions that can be used to
reduce the level of negativity, at both the individual and departmental
levels, in your work place and improve the overall culture.

Leading a Successful Multigenerational Organization
Today’s multigenerational workforce presents unfamiliar terrain
for health care leaders. As a result, conflicts may develop due to
the generational differences in core values and work-related issues.
Explore some specific challenges health care leaders encounter with
a multigenerational organization, assess how they affect culture and
patient care, and discuss some proactive steps health care leaders
can take to create cohesion across generational segments.
There is no additional registration fee to attend this Wisconsin
Chapter of ACHE session, but you must pre-register.
This program has been developed and is presented locally by the Wisconsin
Chapter of ACHE. The American College of Healthcare Executives has
awarded 1.5 Category I (ACHE Education) credit hours to this program.
