A Classroom Newsletter for Families of CCS 5th Graders
Thanks so much for your quick
response to parent-teacher
conference requests, especially
for being willing to meet earlier
than the designated days. This
will be a win-win as my family
will be able to meet our son in
Oregon for the holiday, and
your family will be able to get
started early as well! It is a welcome treat to have this time off
approaching! I’ll be contacting
you shortly with proposed
meeting times—thanks for being so flexible!
We have had a very eventful
week, starting with Saturday’s
Run in Their Shoes event at
CCS, which brought out a good
number of families to participate. This event will help CCS
folks who come up against hard
times, medical crises, etc. What
a blessing to have raised some
support for those unfortunate
times.
Students will soon be bringing
home book report assignments
Student Council’s Woodstock Pizza Wednesdays

be offered every Thursday from 7:45- 8:20 by
office and offering muffins, cider and hot chocolate. Donations welcome,
please contact Della Race

you for supporting CCS
Student Council!
We will be repeating this

Our Faith
Hebrews 11:1, 6
Now faith is being sure of
what we hope for and certain
of what we do not see. And
without faith it is impossible
to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must
believe that He exists and
that He rewards those who
diligently seek Him.
for their historical fiction
reading. Keep an eye out
for those and continue to
encourage your child to
read for 20 minutes each
night. I try to keep homework to a minimum so that
this requirement is not too
much of a burden for families.
Next week’s science investigation requires supplies
that I do not have—
calcium chloride (a fish
tank supply) and citric
acid (a canning supply). If
anyone might be able to
help out with this material,
it would benefit us all
greatly! Hands on science
is super fun!
At the moment, the biggest
gap I am noticing in math is
our students’ multiplication
facts. Please encourage
them to practice these
skills—from ones through
twelves at least.
