NUS SAVE is recruiting volunteers for our events in March!
Earth Hour
Want to participate in something meaningful and listen to some good music? SAVE is organising an
Earth Hour concert on the 17th of March, from 8 to 10pm at UTown, Stephen Riady Centre, to
stimulate student interest in energy conservation matters. We need 3-4 volunteers for:
1(a) Event Ushers
· Help with crowd control
· Facilitate flow of event
1(b) F&B managers
· Assist in giving out ice-cream
· Ensure food hygiene
NUS Goes Lite 2016 – Lite Lunches: Better Bento Choices
SAVE is back with our annual flagship event, NUS Goes Lite. With the theme Lite Lunches: Better
Bento Choices, NGL 2016 will draw attention to plastic and food waste and engage the NUS
community in reducing these two waste streams. We are recruiting volunteers for two initiatives
under our flagship event:
Bento Bash
Bento Bash features a lunchbox rental pilot which will take place from 15 to 18 March at the Deck
(Arts Canteen). Volunteer roles include:
2 Lunchbox Rental Officers
· Manage lunchbox rental booth
· Rove canteen to explain project and facilitate lunchbox rental
· Facilitate distribution of lunchboxes and collection of deposit
Bento D’Lite
We are recruiting for volunteers to be our 'chefs' and 'service crew' on 21 and 22 Mar 2016 for NUS
SAVE's flagship event of the year.
Bento D’Lite is SAVE’s “pop-up café” where participants will learn how making simple choices at
mealtime can create positive environmental impacts. The event will be held on 21 and 22 Mar at
UTown, Town Plaza. Volunteer roles include:
3(a) “Service Crew”
 Guide participants through game at café
 Facilitate crowd flow
 Attend briefing session in Week 9
The shifts will be in blocks of 1 hour each and volunteers will need to commit to at least 2 time slots
for the event.
There will be a briefing for all volunteers on 14 Mar during which we will then tell you more about your
roles for the actual day. (If you are unable to make it for the briefing, let us know and we will make
separate arrangements)
