Attendance The class with the best attendance last week was year 5. They had a fantastic 99.3% attendance – well done! The class with the best attendance this year is Class 3 with 98.9%. Well done! Manchester United coaching yr2 & yr3 Manchester United football coaches will be in school on Thursday 10th October 9.30am – 11.15am to work with Year 2 & year 3 Good Behaviour The classes with the highest number of good behaviour (green frog) awards last week were class 1 & Class 6 with a fantastic 94%. Class 2 came second with 90%. Well done and keep up the good work! Please make sure your child has their PE Kit in school on this day. Assemblies Parents are invited to attend our assemblies on a Friday morning which start at 9:00am. The assemblies this half term will be led by the following classes:11th October – Yr 5 - Harvest in church 2.00pm 18th October – Yr 1 Please do come along to support the children – you will be very welcome. Everyone is also welcome to attend the Thursday Celebration of Good Work Assemblies. We will inform parents if their child has been chosen to take part. Thank you to year 3 who led today’s assembly. Parking outside school A reminder to parent/carers when dropping and collecting children from school and in the interest of safety please make sure you do not park or stop on the school zig zags or on double yellow markings. Thank you. Year 6 – Moving on to High School Year 6 families have received a letter for their child. This letter gives clear information about applying for a place at High school along with your child’s UID number, this is very important when applying for a school on line. You must apply on line before the closing date which is 31st October 2013. Macmillan Nurses Coffee Morning There will be 2 coffee mornings to be held at St James Church, Cowhill Lane, and Ashton Under Lyne on the following days. Friday 4th October 8.30am – 1.00am Saturday 5th October 9.00am – 11.00am Harvest Our Harvest festival, led by year 5, will be in church on Friday 11th October at 2pm. Please come along for tea and coffee before the service. This year we are linking with the St. James’ Church community so that your donations will be sent to projects for the homeless and families in need in the Ashton Area. You can bring your donations into school from Monday 23rd September.
