Most working people who
stick to a schedule are governed by
time. Time can either be a friend or
foe. Some people hear the alarm
clock go off in the morning, throw
back the covers, jump out of bed,
take a quick shower, gulp down
breakfast and zoom out of the front
door, start the car (if it’s a Ford it
won’t start the first time) and race
off to work to face the challenges of
commerce and industry!!
All of this is done as if on autopilot. Days turn to weeks, to
months and to years. Soon a rut is
formed.
Too often we face the day without
acknowledging our creator God, His
son Jesus and the Holy Spirit’s
guidance in our busy lives.
Humility is not humiliation, neither
is it grovelling before God.
To be humble is to
recognise God’s greatness
and your smallness. It is
learning to depend on the
Lord, giving Him the glory
and honour. It is realising
that life does not revolve
around you but Him. A Christocentric life is different to an egocentric life. If Christ is at the core
or centre of life you will want to
start each day talking to Him
before rushing into the unknown
future. Taking up your cross daily
does not mean begrudging life’s
difficulties, it simply means dying
to self and living for the Saviour.
How about starting and ending
each day with a brief prayer i.e.
“Thank you Lord for a new day, be
with me every step of the way” or
“Thank you Lord for the day that
has ended. Help me to sleep well
and feel refreshed in the morning.”
Make this a good habit and I
guarantee you a successful and
happy life!
