We have created a feature that will allow you to transfer parts of the file. Please do the following to enable this feature: • First open the “Device Options” screen. To open the screen click on the first button found on the bottom right in iTunes. (See below for a screenshot) • Once you have opened the “Device Options”, check “Enable Partial Transfers”. (See below for a screenshot) Please Note: When you enable “partial transfers” iTunes will display that you have more free memory in your Otis than you actually have. It may show that you have up to 500 MB when you only have 64 MB • • iTunes will now split the file you want to transfer and only send what you have available for storage. For Example: o You have a 80 MB audible.com file o You transfer the file to your Audible-Otis (which holds only 64 MB internally) o iTunes will now transfer the first 64 MB of the file. Once you listen to the file on your Otis, simply re-connect it and retransfer the same file. iTunes will notice the last place you left on the audio and transfer the remainder of the file. For Example: o You listen to ½ of the audio on your Otis for a total of 32 MB of the 80 MB file o You reconnect the Otis device and transfer the same file o iTunes will notice that you “last audio position” and transfer the remainder 48 MB of your 80 MB file to your device. 6 Getting Started Guide How to transfer MP3 files to your Otis audible.com Your Otis device also supports MP3 files.
