excellent way to handle these large and small hard-wood trees. They show excellent survival, save time and money, not to mention a lot of backaches.
: We buy or collect most of our seed from the central forests of Wisconsin. This ensures that you are getting (hardy to zone 3 & 4) stock adapted to our areas brutal winters.

Cultural Notes…
: Plantings of conifers and adjacent fruit bearing shrubs provide essential cover and food for song birds and other wildlife.
: Wind breaks slow fierce winter winds and reduce cooling cost in summer. A correctly placed windbreak can reduce energy
needs by more than 10%.
: Spacing for wind breaks can vary, however we recommend a double row of trees 6 feet apart and 8 feet between rows. A nice
addition to this is a third row comprised of deciduous shrubs. 100 lineal feet / 6 feet x 3 rows = 50 trees
: Spacing for Christmas trees 6x6=1210 trees/acre 8x8=680 trees/acre
: Spacing for forestry plantings 8x8=680 trees/acre
: Spacing for shrubs 3x3=4840/acre
: Consult your local forester for expert advice before getting started.
: Check out our web site (www.paintcreeknursery.com) for great links to loads of information on trees.
