This unit will provide students with an introduction to maps.
Students will understand how to use latitude, longitude, direction, distance, symbols,
co-ordinates and contour lines on maps.
Students will produce their own route to school map using the skills learnt.
This unit will provide students with an understanding of local geography issues.
Students will know how to complete a route to enquiry to investigate an issue.
Students will undertake their own primary fieldwork and research into an issue of their
choice. They will write this up and present their findings reaching conclusions.
This unit will provide students with an introduction to Weather and Climate. Students
will understand the factors that influence Weather and Climate. Students will know an
overview of the global air circulation and how ocean currents influence the UK.
Students will know the main differences across the Uk Climate.
This unit will provide students with an introduction to Ecosystems. Students will be able
to use and build on their their map skills to describe the location of the main biomes.
Also their Climate unit knowledge to understand the reasons for the location of the
main biomes.
