ACTIVITY: Helium Stick - reinforces the need for one voice, common goals and working together. KEY AREA 2: Strengths Evaluation Team and personal insight into individual strength in the team is empowering and also provides a Big Picture view of the current team overall strength and potential challenges. * using Wundertraining Strengths cards pic below. • Individual STRENGTHS evaluation of 34 recognised leadership strengths and insight into key findings from the research - based on 34 Strengths consolidated from the Gallup Studies of 20,000 interviews with senior leaders, studies of over a million teams and 50 years of research into the world’s most admired leaders. • The leadership strengths underpin -The four leadership domains as identified in the research: 1. Executing: those who know how to make things happen. 2. Influencing: those who help their teams reach a much broader audience. 3. Relationship Building: those who are the glue that holds the team together. 4. Strategic Thinking: those who keep us focused on what could be. ACTIVITY: Play BALL - game to support utilising team strengths- listening skills and collaboration to build performance. KEY AREA 3: Team Development and Dynamics: ACTIVITY: LOST AT SEA. Group Development and Dynamics in practice. Evaluation of how they traveled as a team and the roles team members played in the process. *we have a selection of mariner and pirate hats to support this activity. • Tuckman's Team Development theory and evaluation of where the team is currently. • Team Dynamics theory - awareness of the need for the balance of the 3 key areas of Task, Maintenance and Individual Needs • Identify and share functional and dysfunctional behaviours that participants currently practise within these areas. *Using Wundertraining playing cards. ACTIVITY: Working Together Agreement – preferred and unacceptable behaviours Utilise the Japanese KJ method -uses lots of post it notes and allows for all voices to be heard! . ACTIVITY: Validation- Appreciation and gratitude at its finest! Participants write messages to each team member about what they admire or respect about each individual team members contribution to the team. KEY AREA 4: INTERPERSONAL- Building Trust, Constructive Conflict and Eliminating Workplace Drama • TRUST fundamentals • 5 Dysfunctions of a team- Evaluation and sharing current areas of opportunity. • Brief insight into Conflict stages and fighting fair in the Storming stage. • Style under Stress individual evaluation and a big picture view of the team. • 3 Key Thinking Strategies for enhancing team dynamics. 1) Seek to Understand, then to be Understood (Stephen Covey) 2) Focus proactively on Goals: Proactive vs Reactive focus 3) Kapmams Triangle- The Victim, The Persecutor, The Rescuer Create an awareness of how workplace drama often 'plays' and the roles we may take. (And how to eliminate the Drama!) Key Area 5: "Working Together Agreement" Final Consolidation of the "Working Together Agreement" which underpins how ‘we work together’ includes- Team purpose, Values and supporting preferred and unacceptable behaviours.
