Laser Skin Rejuvenation - Treatment Information How Does Pico Laser Technology Work? At SILK Laser Clinics, all treatments are performed using a Pico Second technology by an experienced and Laser Safety Certified technician. This is a Medical Grade 4 Laser and is the most effective and advanced machine available. Unlike traditional lasers that use a photothermal (heat) action, Pico’s ultra-short pulse creates an intense photomechanical impact which induces the production of new collagen and elastin without causing any damage to the skin. The technology uses a combination of high and low energies to achieve maximum results with no downtime. This is excellent for anyone wanting an all over skin refresh that will firm and tone the skin, clear any unwanted sun damage and help to reduce pore size. The following treatments are FDA Approved: • Fine Lines and Wrinkles • Acne Scarring • Hyperpigmentation Things to consider when having this treatment: • • • • Treatments can be done every four weeks for skin types 1-3 and every six weeks for skin types 4-5. It is recommended that you use the prescribed home care products to ensure that you achieve the best possible results. As part of your consultation, you will receive a detailed home care regime to suit your concerns. When treating hormonal skin conditions such as Melasma, treatment is likely to be ongoing to manage the condition. Maintenance treatments are recommended to achieve lasting results. Preparation For Laser Skin Rejuvenation • • • • Minimise sun exposure to the treatment area and use appropriate sun protection (such as 50+ sunscreen) if exposure cannot be avoided, throughout your treatment plan. Refrain from any skin treatments, including laser, microdermabrasion, hair removal or chemical skin treatments, in the area for a minimum of two weeks prior to laser skin rejuvenation.
