This consumer education event is held annually as part of the Michigan Dairy Expo. This year the Great Dairy Adventure will be held Wednesday, July 17 and we are looking for volunteers to assist us with this great family event! Activities include milk mustache photos, milking a cow, making cheese “bugs”, dairy nutrition education, calves to pet and even a robotic milking machine! We are looking for volunteers in two shifts 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 and 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. You don’t have to have any dairy background – we have lots of jobs and anyone with child “wrangling” skills is perfect! For a list of upcoming events, please visit http://www.ans.msu.edu/events UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS Animal Science Graduate Pursues Olympic Dream Beth Rohl, a 2013 Animal Science graduate, was named co-winner of the George Alderton Female Athlete of the Year, capping offer her stellar track and field career at Michigan State University. Rohl graduated as the schoolrecord holder in the weight throw (22.31 meters), the hammer throw (62.87 meters) and the discus (59.78 meters). Rohl has qualified for every discus final in which she has competed at the NCAA Championships and leaves MSU as the most decorated Spartan thrower of all time with seven AllAmerican honors.
