Submissions are open to non-members for this annual exhibition
Work admissible
Exhibits may be paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints
or mixed media. No photography, computer-generated
prints or Giclée reproductions will be accepted. Exhibits
must be original, the artist’s unaided work. Prizes
include the Bath Society of Artists Prize (£1,000), the
Young Artist’s Prize (£250) and many others – see
website for details (www.bsartists.co.uk).
Labelling
A label must be stuck on the back, and another attached
by string to hang 6in/15cm over the front from the
top, with reference number (as on entry form), name,
address, telephone number, email address, title, medium
and price of work; this also applies to sculpture. The
catalogue will be prepared from the information on the
form. Members: please write ‘M’ on both labels and in
the box at the top right corner of the form below.
Price and sales
All works entered must be for sale for a minimum of
£100 with the exception of prints. Commission will
be at the rate of 43.5%. Prices must include the frame.

Submission of works
Members may submit three works. Non-members may
submit two works on payment of £12 for each work.
The Selection and Hanging Panels reserve the right to
reject any or all of them (non-members). No fees will be
returned. Members will be represented by at least one
work. Young artists aged 18–25 may submit two works
on payment of £5 per work. Works that have been
previously exhibited in Bath cannot be accepted. Wet
paintings will not be accepted.
Frames and hanging
Metal frames, perspex or unframed glass will not be
accepted. There must be no rings, nails or protruding
screws on the frames. Mirror plates should be attached
at the sides (see diagram overleaf).

Artists will be notified of sales; payment will be made by
Bath Society of Artists after the exhibition closes (allow
up to three months).
Opening of exhibition
The Private View will be held on Friday 22 April, 6–8pm.
Delivery of works
Works, unpacked, will be received at the Victoria Art
Gallery on Saturday 16 April between 10am and 3.30pm,
and at no other time.
Collection of works
Selection
The decision of the Selection Panel and Hanging Panel
must be regarded as final. Both the Society and the
Gallery will take every possible care of works; however,
neither the Society nor Bath & North East Somerset
Council can accept any responsibility for loss or damage
to exhibits while on the Gallery premises. Exhibitors
should make their own insurance arrangements as
required. Bath Society of Artists reserves the right not
to hang all selected works, whether this is due to lack of
space or any other factor.

Membership
Members are elected by the Committee on the basis of
work exhibited. They must have had work accepted on
at least two occasions.
