Feeding unit with break for up to 6 ribbons, and knot detector to avoid cylinder damage. Calender with two carbon steel cylinders covered by rectified chrome. 250mm diameter and 300mm width cylinders, heated by 5 kW electric heaters up to approximately 240°C. Two pneumatic pistons for upper cylinder with maximum pressure of 3,5 tons. Micrometric adjustment devices to keep distance between cylinders: 0,01mm. Individual speed control for each cylinder and option to increase speed of upper cylnder up to 10% to create friction on surface. Speed up to 38 m/min. Ribbon take-up unit with padder (with pneumatic load system) and ribbon tension control by compensator arm to interrupt transport in case of too much ribbon tension.
