The course is a unique alternative to GCSE’s and BTEC’s. It is a nationally accredited course equivalent to 1 GCSE award. There will be opportunities to photograph on location and in the studio. Students will learn digital manipulation and the many ways that their work can develop, including the moving image. Students who are self motivated and want to develop their own ideas in a creative way are usually most successful in this subject. Although the school has some equipment, students are expected to have at least a basic camera of their own. Students interested in a career in digital media or journalism would benefit from this subject.
