NANOSPHERE SIZE STANDARDS NIST Traceable Mean Diameter

Certificate of Calibration
NIST Size Traceability from Thermo Scientific Corp.
Concentration Data from Kanomax FMT, Inc.
20 nm PSL Spheres
DESCRIPTION. The particle size standard detailed below, provides an accurate and traceable
size calibration for particle size analysis. They are part of a series of monodisperse polymer
microspheres with calibrated mean diameters traceable to the Standard Meter through the
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Diameters from a nominal 20
nanometers (nm) to a nominal 500 nanometers (nm) are available as calibrated by photon
correlation spectroscopy (PCS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The aqueous
medium has been prepared to promote dispersion and reduce clumping of the particles. The
certified mean diameter is traceable to NIST. The concentration is determined using an
UltraFine Atomization/Scanning Mobility Particle Sizing (UFA/SMPS) system.
