Our standard prints are delivered on photographic paper with a matte finish.
Finishes such as metallic and pearl are available at an additional cost, please
call the studio for custom quotes or to see samples of these papers.
Our canvases are custom ordered and require 3-4 weeks for turn around.
Please be sure to let us know if you are framing your canvas or if you would like
a gallery wrap. A gallery wrap is an art form of canvas which does not require
framing because the image wraps around the sides of the canvas.

Small retouches such as facial blemishes may require no charge at all, while

Although we’re based in North Carolina, we love to travel! We’ve
photographed our clients everywhere from the California coastline
to the cliffs of Ireland, from the quaint cobblestone streets of
Puerta Vallarta, Mexico to the bustling avenues of New York City.
When booking MHP photographers beyond their base cities, travel
fees apply.
Our travel fees are simple so no need to do complicated arithmetic.
We add up expenses and invoice you following the big day.
Depending on the location of your wedding, travel fees could
include, airfare, rental car, gas, lodging and meals.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BOOK MY WEDDING?
We require one third of the total package price to book along with a signed
contract. We make this process super simple and it can all be done online
whenever you are ready to secure your date.
DO YOU HAVE BACKUP EQUIPMENT?
Yes, every photographer at your wedding will carry a back-up equipment at the
wedding. The back-up cameras are the same model as the camera used during
the wedding. We believe in consistency!
WHEN ARE MY PAYMENTS DUE?
Payments are divided into thirds once the final details of the contract have
been decided. The first installment is due upon signing the contract. The
second installment is due 90 days before your Wedding, and the final payment
is due 30 days before your Wedding.
DO YOU OFFER ONLINE VIEWING?
Yes! We offer online viewing through Pictage. Your family can view and order
directly from the Pictage site without requiring you to manage their orders.
Pictage even allows you to create folders of your favorite pictures making our
album design process easy for you and us.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept cash, check and credit (Visa and MasterCard). If paying by credit
card there is a 3% processing fee
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO FOR MY IMAGES TO APPEAR ONLINE?
6-8 weeks after your wedding. Our turn around time for engagement shoots is
a little bit faster because there are less images to edit.
ONCE I HAVE PAID MY RETAINER, CAN I GET IT BACK IF I HAVE TO
CANCEL FOR SOME REASON?
Once a retainer has been paid to reserve a date, it is non-refundable upon
cancellation of your event. Your paid reservation prevents us from booking
your photographer for anyone else on that date. Payments may not be reapplied if the event is rescheduled, unless special consideration is made at the
discretion of Millie Holloman.
HOW LONG DO YOU KEEP NEGATIVES, AND CAN I PURCHASE THEM?
We guarantee that you will have access to your images online for a year after
your Wedding Date. You may purchase a Hi-Resolution USB Flash Drive of
either the Wedding Day Images, or the Wedding Day, Engagement, and Bridal
Session. All Hi-Resolution images are delivered as JPG files. Pricing is listed
under the “Add-Ons” menu. Our studio does keep long-term archives, and
under most circumstances can retrieve images even after your pictures have
expired online.
HOW DO YOU DETERMINE EXPENSES FOR DESTINATION WEDDINGS?
Our travel expenses are pretty basic. The only additional cost is for
transportation (gas and or airfare, whichever is needed), lodging, meals and
rental car, if applicable.
DO YOU BRING A SECOND SHOOTER OR AN ASSISTANT?
Yes, no one ever shoots a wedding alone. Having two photographers gives
you the benefit of different angles and the ability to capture more of those
priceless moments!
WHEN DO I BOOK MY BRIDAL AND ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS?
Call to book your bridal & engagement sessions 3+ months before you would
like to have the session. Our schedule fills up quickly, so call as soon as you
have an idea of when you’d like to shoot. Be sure to leave plenty of time

ENGAGEMENT FAQ’S

WHEN DO I NEED TO BOOK MY ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS?
Call to book your sessions 2-3 months before you would like to have the
session. Our schedule fills up quickly, so call as soon as you have an idea of
when you’d like to shoot. Be sure to leave plenty of time for your images to be
edited and ordered if you plan to have them for your wedding and if ordering
a signature coffee table book allow three months for us to process the images,
design the book and place the order so we can have it for your wedding.
WHEN DO I NEED TO TAKE MY BRIDAL PORTRAITS?
If you would like to have a bridal portrait displayed at your wedding, then we
recommend having your bridals done at least 2 months before your wedding
day. Make sure to call and book your session as soon as you have a general
idea of when you will be available, our dates book up quickly!
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE MY SESSION?
Be sure to fill out the “Get to Know Us Sheet” online at least two weeks prior
to your session. Also let us know if you have any locations in mind. You’ll most
likely chat with your photographer before the session by phone or email to
discuss any ideas for the session!
WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR FOR THE ENGAGEMENT SESSION?
Whatever best reflects your personality. It’s a good idea to coordinate with
each other, but don’t wear clothes that match too closely with your fiancé;
(we don’t recommend matching shirts, for example). You’re two different
people and we want your clothes to reflect that! It is wise to stay away from
busy patterns; they can distract the focus from you and your fiancé. Ladies,
we recommend wearing outfits that are tailored or more form fitting, and
staying away from tops and blouses that are more billowy (ex: peasant tops).
While beautiful, we have found those tops can make the body appear larger in
photographs.
CAN WE BRING FRIENDS + FAMILY
ALONG FOR OUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION?
We would prefer you did not. Your session will be treated as a date with just
the two of you. So we can work naturally without distraction, we prefer it just
be us + the two of you.
WILL MY DRESS GET DIRTY DURING OUR BRIDAL SHOOT AND HOW
CAN I HELP KEEP MY DRESS FROM GETTING DIRTY?
This is another reason you should plan your bridal portraits well in advance
of your wedding. If for some reason your dress gets a spot of dirt, then you
have time to get it cleaned. We certainly will make every effort to protect and
respect your dress, but some shots may require you to lie down, or climb atop
something. Of course, we will never force you to do something you are not
comfortable doing but coming with an open mind will produce more incredible
images. We recommend bringing either sheets, or plastic tablecloths to keep
the bottom of your dress clean. Please make sure that whatever you decide to
bring is a close match to your dress… so if needed, it can blend into your dress.
DO I HAVE TO BRING FLOWERS FOR THE BRIDAL SHOOT?
Yes, this is something that most brides do not want to go without. The bouquet
makes hand placement less awkward and can help create ideas for your
pictures, bringing variety to the photos. Stay away from silk flowers, they will
look silk in photos too!
IF I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A BRIDAL PORTRAIT DISPLAYED AT MY
WEDDING, HOW SOON BEFORE THE WEDDING DO I NEED TO ORDER IT?
We request you order one month prior to your wedding day to allow plenty
of time for your portrait to arrive. If you would like a canvas, we strongly
recommend ordering even sooner.
WHERE WILL WE TAKE MY BRIDAL PORTRAITS?
We can work on that together; if you have a place that’s really important to
you, then by all means let us know! If you are unsure, then we can brainstorm
together to figure out a location that will be the perfect fit!

WHAT TIME DO WE NEED TO START
TAKING PICTURES THE DAY OF THE WEDDING?
There are several factors to consider when scheduling the start of taking
pictures on your wedding day. It is important to know how many hours of
coverage your contract includes. The more hours you have purchased, the
earlier the photography coverage can begin. This also depends on whether
or not you want to include “First Look” and/or family formals prior to the
ceremony. We typically like to begin one hour prior to the ceremony start
time. If you plan to see one another before the ceremony “First Look” then we
like to begin 2 hours prior to the ceremony.
WHAT IS A “FIRST LOOK” AND WHY
SHOULD WE CONSIDER IT FOR OUR WEDDING DAY?
A “First Look” is when the Bride and Groom see each other before the
wedding ceremony. Typically, the couple meets in a private location where the
photographer captures the first moments of the couple seeing one another.
We understand and respect the tradition of the couple seeing each other for
the first time when the Bride walks down the aisle. However, we recommend
the “First Look” on your wedding day because it affords you the opportunity to
have very personal and unique images. The photographer can capture both the
Bride and Groom’s first expressions, and it offers a very intimate moment to be
shared with just the couple. If you are under time constraints (especially due
to lighting), seeing each other before the ceremony helps alleviate the stress
of capturing couple shots, family formals and bridal party images between the
ceremony and reception. Getting these shots before the ceremony allows for
a more relaxed schedule for the bride and groom, which in turn creates better
shots!
WHEN DOES YOUR TIME BEGIN?
Our time begins upon arrival at the first location. Once our coverage begins
hours can not be split. Travel time between locations is counted in your
coverage hours (ex: cermony venue to reception location).

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOUR TIME IS UP,
AND WE HAVEN’T LEFT THE RECEPTION YET?
You have the option of purchasing more time, which we will bill you for after
the wedding, or we can do a “mock” departure. The choice is up to you! Keep
in mind that the option to purchase more time for the wedding might not be
available if you wait until the day of your wedding. The photographer may have
prior engagements scheduled around the coverage time of your wedding day.
If you wait too long to request additional time, it may not be avalaible for
purchase. We suggest you plan a schedule of the wedding day and speak with
your photographer about when you would like them to start shooting. If you
think you may need an extra hour or two added on to your coverage time, then
go ahead and purchase it prior to your wedding.
WILL YOU SHOOT POSED PICTURES
OF MY FAMILY OR DO YOU ONLY SHOOT CANDID?
That is entirely up to you. We can do both! Again, we suggest keeping the
posed shots to a minimum. We do however prefer to take family formals
outdoors when weather and circumstances allow because we love the natural
light!
DO YOU PREFER TAKING ALL POSED SHOTS BEFORE THE WEDDING?
We love to capture people candidly in the moment, but we also recognize
how important it is to our clients to have group pictures of family and friends.
If you choose “First Look”, this allows you to capture family photos before
the wedding. If you choose this option, we recommend you allot 2+ hours
before the ceremony to capture all the shots and then rest or freshen up
before the ceremony begins. We do recommend keeping your family formals
to a minimum, so you are able to spend more time with your guests at the
reception. Plus, we prefer to capture the candid, unplanned moments that
occur during your wedding day.
Please keep in mind that even with “First Look” we like to have you allot some
time following the ceremony for images with just the two of you as husband
and wife!

DO YOU MIND IF OTHER PEOPLE TAKE SHOTS
WITH THEIR CAMERAS WHILE YOU ARE SHOOTING?
We prefer that the time set aside for family formals and the images of just
the bride and groom are reserved for the photographer. When multiple
wedding guests take pictures, it can distract those being photographed, and
can consume the time set aside for these images. That said, we do understand
that your Great Aunt may want to take a few with her new camera, so if there
is time we will give the family opportunity to take any photos they desire.
The best way to create that time is to respect the photographer’s time to
photograph alone. We do require professional exclusivity; i.e. we are the only
photographers hired for your wedding.
DO YOU USE FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY DURING THE CEREMONY?
If your ceremony is outside, we typically rely on the natural light. It is prettier!
If your ceremony is in a church, it is important to ask if the church allows flash
photography. If the churches allow it, then we only resort to using a flash if
absolutely necessary. We try to avoid drawing attention to ourselves during
such an intimate occasion and we really love natural light!

DO I NEED TO MAKE A LIST OF THE PICTURES I
WANT ON MY WEDDING DAY FOR YOUR REFERENCE?
No. We have photographed weddings for years and we try our best to capture
every single moment possible. However, if there are specific shots which are
unique to your wedding that you would like us to capture, please make us
aware of these on your “Get To Know Us Sheet” and we will be sure to capture
them for you!

DO YOU SHOOT BLACK AND WHITE OR COLOR?
We shoot digital, which allows us to edit the photos as we choose. Once
the images have been reviewed it is at our discretion which images are best
represented in color or black and white.
DO YOU SHOOT FILM OR DIGITAL?
DIGITAL! We want the ability to capture all of the special moments of your
day and digital allows us the ability to “endlessly” shoot your wedding. Which
ultimately allows for more amazing shots to be captured!
WHAT ABOUT PICTURES FOR A NEWSPAPER ANNOUNCEMENT?
We handle sending the images that you choose to the paper. All we need is the
paper’s email address, contact information and the image size the newspaper
requests for printing. Please be sure to include any specific instructions from
the newspaper as well.

WHEN DO I NEED TO LET YOU KNOW
WHAT PICTURES I NEED IN THE PAPER?
Please allow at least 2 weeks before the paper’s deadline for submitting the
information. Please, please, please don’t wait until the last day of the deadline
to ask us to submit your photo. It’s a process (there’s quite a bit of work
required on our end) and we need to get the file to the paper in plenty of time
with the proper sizing requirements.
CAN I EXCHANGE SOMETHING IN MY PACKAGE
FOR THE HI-RES USB FLASH DRIVE OF MY WEDDING IMAGES?
You can not exchange products or credits from your wedding package.
Packages are designed to save you money so the products within them do not
hold full value when exchanged. The Hi-Res USB Flash Drive can be added to
your package at any time (refer to add-ons section for pricing).
