that can lead to life threatening conditions. Here are some important
facts about Diabetes that everyone should be aware of:



In honor of Diabetes Awareness Month, Angie Sizemore RD, LD will be speaking at the Women’s Center on issues
related to diabetes on Friday, November 13 at 1p.m. The talk should be interesting and informative. Please make plans
to attend.
Flu Kits
Free flu kits are now available at the Women’s Center. The kits are filled
with items such as cough drops, hand sanitizing wipes, face masks, tissues,
and a list of tips to help you avoid the flu. Flu season is well underway, and
this year we are facing the H1N1 virus as well as the regular seasonal flu. To
avoid getting sick and falling behind in school, come by the Women’s Center
and pick up a flu kit.
Also, along with the flu kits, the Women’s Center will be giving out cards
filled with tips to help prepare you in the event of a sexual assault. Be sure
to come by the Women’s Center to pick up a flu kit and “Get Carded.” This
offer is available while supplies last.

The Women’s Center would also like to thank everyone who came out to trick or treat at the Women’s Center on

Notes from the Coordinator
From restoring old copper cabinet pulls to handing out Halloween candy; from arranging
speakers to address certain topics to arranging plants—all of these fall among the duties of
a coordinator. And that is where I come in.
I’ve been here for two months, and the time has just flown by. I’m here for numerous reasons, not the least of which being to help make the Women’s Center more comfortable
and inviting, a place where anyone and everyone (women and men alike) feel welcome to
study, talk, relax, eat, meet old friends and make new ones. I really look forward to meeting
each of you as you drop in.
Be sure to check our upcoming events. If you have any suggestions for additional events,
just let me know!
