The furnace head can now be tilted forward again. (NOTE: The front magnet is
very heavy and may drop forward when the furnace head is tilted. Hold the
front magnet securely and allow it to drop slowly). The magnet is attached to
the furnace head by a hinge mechanism. The front part of the magnet will drop
down and be held there by gravity. The back part of the magnet is lifted up and
the magnet latch is lifted upwards to hold the magnet in place. Be careful not to
press the magnet latch accidentally as the magnet is heavy and could drop
suddenly if the latch is dis-engaged.

Open the door latch and remove any cuvettes which are still in the furnace head.
The center block will now slide to the right. It is not bolted in but only held on two
pins.

See the two pins in the picture below. The window and lens shown in the picture
is where the fiber optic is located for maintaining accurate temperatures within
the cuvette. This window and lens should be cleaned before the center block is
re-installed. Slide the center block to the right. You may need to guide the
hoses and wires through the holes in order to make the removal of the center
block easier. Make sure that no hoses are pulling off any fittings or crimped
during the process.

Locate the window retaining ring as in the picture below. There are two notches
cut in opposite sides of the ring. A dime will fit into the notches and act as a
screwdriver to remove the threaded retaining ring. The window is not attached to
the retaining ring so be careful when finally removing the retaining ring.
