Be a part of the largest growing community of Taco Loving foodies. San José is home to the only MLE sanctioned Taco Eating Contest in Northern California. The Chachos Taco tastes great but try scarfing down 101 in less than 8 minutes. Part salsa, part carne asada, part tortilla, this festival is one for the books. In 2014, Matt Stoney took the belt of “Chachos Taco Champion”, eating his way through 101 tacos in 8 minutes. This competition brings out over a dozen eaters, many of them professional competitors who want to earn the right to be called “Chachos Taco Champion” and take home not only a sizable belt but serious prize dollars to go with it. Who are we? Chachos Mexican Food, Tecate Beer, Milagro Marketing, Major League Eating Chachos has been serving quality Mexican Food in an urban Chicano setting, and home to the original Henchata. Chachos is no stranger to inventing and taking risks. Weather on it’s menu or its huge assortment of drink specialties, Chachos brings out the revolutionary spirited Chicano in you. Major League Eating is the world body that oversees all professional eating contests. The organization, which developed competitive eating and includes the sport's governing body, the International Federation of Competitive Eating, helps sponsors to develop, publicize and execute world-class eating events in all varieties of food disciplines.MLE-sanctioned eating contests provide dramatic audience entertainment and offer an unparalleled platform for media exposure. The world's top competitive eating stars -- such as Joey Chestnut, Sonya Thomas, Patrick Bertoletti, Eater X Tim and Bob Shoudt -- are all Major League Eaters. The Cuauhtémoc brewery was founded in Monterrey in 1890 by José Calderón Muguerza, José A. Muguerza, Francisco G. Sada Muguerza, with capital of 150,000 pesos, starting with the Carta Blanca brand. Cuauhtémoc brewery produced its first beer barrel in 1893 and won first prize in the Chicago and Paris world fairs. Tecate and Tecate Light are popular pale lagers named after the city of Tecate, Baja California, where they were first produced in 1943. Originally brewed by a local company, Tecate was acquired by Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma in 1955. Tecate is sold in both distinctive red aluminium cans and in twist-top bottles. Tecate Light was launched in 1992 by Héctor Emilio Ayala, who was the project manager.
