What is a Taco Eating Contest?
Be a part of the largest growing community of
Taco Loving foodies. San José is home to the
only MLE sanctioned Taco Eating Contest in
Northern California. The Chachos Taco tastes
great but try scarfing down 101 in less than 8
minutes. Part salsa, part carne asada, part
tortilla, this festival is one for the books. In
2014, Matt Stoney took the belt of “Chachos
Taco Champion”, eating his way through 101
tacos in 8 minutes. This competition brings
out over a dozen eaters, many of them
professional competitors who want to earn
the right to be called “Chachos Taco Champion” and take home not only a sizable belt but serious prize dollars
to go with it.

Francisco G. Sada Muguerza, with capital of 150,000

named after the city of Tecate, Baja California, where they were first produced
in 1943. Originally brewed by a local company, Tecate was acquired by Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma in 1955. Tecate is sold in both distinctive red aluminium cans
and in twist-top bottles. Tecate Light was launched in 1992 by Héctor Emilio
Ayala, who was the project manager.
