Pasta 4 Padres! Saturday, May 9th
Fr. Paul Koetter of Holy Spirit Parish approached
Fatima Council knights with a request to help raise
money for a new jeep/truck for his fellow pastor at the parish of St. Francis of
Assisi in Texaquat, Honduras. The current vehicle is 20 years old and falling
apart. To assist with this effort. Fatima Council will host its first ever “Pasta 4
Padres” from 5 - 9 PM on Saturday, May 9th. The food will be of an Italian
pasta theme with something for everyone. The cost will be $10 for adults, $5
for children ages 5 - 12, and under 5 free. Come out, support a good cause
and feed your family to boot. This event is open to the public.
Eagle Scout Fundraising Meals 5/16 and 5/17
Eagle Scout candidate, Mitchell Struewing, son of PGK Eric and Stacy
Struewing, is raising money to complete his Eagle Scout project at
Holy Spirit Parish. Please support the Boy Scout Eagle Project fundraiser at the Knights of Columbus for Mitchell. He will be building a
shelter in the Rose Garden at Holy Spirit. The shelter’s primary purpose will be
for the festival but will be available throughout the year for chapel masses,
school class use, and also a nice gathering area for many other groups. There
will be a spaghetti dinner on Saturday evening, May 16th and a Biscuits and
Gravy Breakfast the morning of May 17th. The dinner menu will be pasta with
marinara and/or meat sauce, fettuccini with alfredo sauce, salad, french bread,
dessert, and tea/lemonade. The cost will be $8 for adults, $4 for children 12
and under and will be served from 5 – 8 p.m. For Sunday morning, the breakfast menu is Biscuits and Sausage gravy, Pancakes, Milk/Orange
Juice/Coffee. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under and
will be served from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Like
our other events, this one is open to the
public, so please encourage your
neighbors, friends, and anyone supportive of Scouting to come by for a bite.

Grand Knights Report: by GK Dave Spanke
It is good to see that temperatures are finally starting to warm up. Our Hall rental activity continues
to warm up also. The Hall now has several repeat
renters that have kept the schedule full. Sometimes both sides are rented concurrently and the big Hall
has even had two separate rentals in the same day.
While we are still planning interior and exterior remodeling
projects, we have decided to purchase 200 new chairs to
replace the old, heavy wooden arm style chairs. The new
chairs have fabric covered cushions, metal frames and are
stackable. There are some samples inside the door to the
Chamber room if you are interested in taking a look. Look
for our new arrivals soon.
The three existing lights on the North side of the building
have also been replaced with newer, brighter more reliable
lights. Thanks to Brother Rick Pohlman, Billie Southard
and Jeff Emminger for making this happen. These really
light up the lot and make the whole North side safer at
night.
You may also have noticed a new “Dutch” style door from
the Lobby to the Kitchen area. This really helps to serve
food from our Kitchen to the rest of our space. Thanks to
Billie Southard and Jim Tobin for heading up this project.
Look for more improvements in the months ahead.
Mother Goose honors the Unborn
Memorial with new life:
Those of you who attended the Sunday
Breakfast on Sunday, May 2nd may have
had the opportunity to see the miracle of life
taking place next our memorial for the unborn. Mother Goosed feathered her nest
and brought new chicks into the world right
where all could see her. Congrats Mom!
Financial Secretary's Report: by FS Walt Linne
Congratulations are in order for our four new Honorary Life members Brothers James E. Johnson, Robert John Kuehr, PGK
Daniel B. Kidwell and PFN James F. Kohout.
Our Good Samaritan(s): by PGK Bill Karandos
Sad to say, but another Good Samaritan of Fatima Council has
passed away. Frank Eppich, Sr. was an active member for many
years before his health started failing. He served regularly at Gibault luncheons, participated in Bingo, and was an active participant in the 3rd degree team we had in the early 2000’s. He was a
member of the Senior Citizens Dance Club, and played euchre
every Thursday night. The large main room screen was in a large
part due to Frank and his efforts. I has been used for karaoke,
movies, superbowl, business and now is used for bingo each
week. He took a lot of fun rubbing for being a loyal New England
Patriots fan as well as a Boston Red Sox fan. He will be missed!

Relevant Revelations ...by PGK Eric Struewing
The book of Revelation suggests that there was a
crisis in the early church history, because of the
ruthless persecution by the Roman authorities. It
is a warning to Christians in the first century to
stand firm, despite the threat of martyrdom. They
are to await the fulfillment of God’s promises
when Christ will come again in glory at the end of
our present age. With many problems in our own Country
and around the world today, it is easy to lose hope. Even I
wonder just how bad it is going to get? But in (Mt 28,
20) it reminds me of my obligation to fully trust in Jesus. “I
am with you always, until the end of the age.” We must remain steadfast in our own faith, confident in the risen Lord,
and have no fear. Christ has defeated Satan, but our suffering is not over. Brothers, I ask that you join us at our meetings, activities, events, and when we pray. Stand with your
fellow Christians in the suffering we must endure. “For God
is the sovereign Lord of history” He has the divine plan.
Vivat Jesus!

Ladies Auxiliary: The April meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary was held on Tuesday,
April 14. We delivered 4 gift cards to the 4 parish offices the week before Easter to be
given directly to a deserving family in each of the member parishes. Sandy Stiles
made the Easter cards and obtained the gift cards from Kroger for us. We also discussed our rummage sale for this year that will be on Saturday, August 22. Arrangements have been made with Holly to reserve the Council for this event for us. We welcomed a
new member, Sharon Mabee Ward. We are glad to have her join us. Elections for 2015/2016
will be at the May meeting on Tuesday, May 12 at 7:00 PM at the Council. Hope to see you
there. All ladies are welcome. If you have any questions about the Ladies Auxiliary please
contact Mary McGinley at 627-2840.
Silvertones visit Boggstown: On April 15rh, 3 carloads headed for Boggstown to visit a
classic theater, enjoy a meal and take in a show. It was a live show featuring a Ragtime piano
player, a drummer, and an outstanding singer who performed “Lady in Red” as well as several
Patsy Cline numbers. Ken Stiles was sufficiently embarrassed during the show. A yodeling bit
was next where Bill Perry was asked to yodel with her without too much embarrassment. Then
the piano and drummer began rockin’ which had Jeannie Bourne get up and dance with the
troupe causing even the Lady in Red to blush! Another 60 person group was also there. They
asked if the Silvertones were part of the show! Thanks to Judy Kennedy for planning the day!
Editor Notes: Special thanks to PFN Jim Kohout, his wife who organize and handle the mailing, thus saving the
