Kelly Barland Margie Eliason
Ted Neff
JAMES HADFIELD: Mr. James H. (J.H.) Hadfield is a longtime resident of American Fork,
Utah. He is a retired Colonel with over 30 years of military service in the Utah National Guard.
Mayor Hadfield has served the City of American Fork in a multitude of positions that have given him a
unique insight into City operation. He served on the Planning and Zoning Commission for nine years,
six of which he served as the Chairman; he also served as a member of the American Fork Irrigation
Board and the Metropolitan Water Board. Before becoming Mayor, Mr. Hadfield, served American
Fork City for 15 years as the Supervisor in the Engineering Department.
For the past six years Mayor Hadfield has focused his efforts on improving the fiscal position of the
City. He continues to improve the City’s infrastructure and has had a major part in improving
transportation throughout the City.
He is the past president of the Iron Blosam Owners Association (Snowbird) and the Vivian Park Home
Owner’s Association (Provo Canyon).
Mr. Hadfield is, again, desirous to serve the members of the Iron Blosam Home Owners Association as a
board member. He feels that with his many years of experience, he can contribute to the Iron Blosam
Board in the areas of fiscal responsibility, public involvement and leadership as Snowbird continues to
expand.
Mayor Hadfield holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and is a graduate of the U.S. Army
Command and General Staff College. He is married to Elaine Haws Hadfield and they are the proud
parents of four children and twelve grandchildren.

KELLY BARLAND: Kelly Barland currently resides in Draper, Utah, but is a native of North
Ogden and moved to Sandy, Utah at the age of 11. Kelly's parents purchased week 48 unit 323 at the
Iron Blosam Lodge when she was 6 months old. She spent 1 week every year on vacation at Snowbird,
from the time she was an infant through her undergraduate years.
When Kelly was 15 years old she became a Saturday housekeeper where she remained for 3 years. Her
family still maintains their week and she recently purchased the same unit week 47. This has allowed
Kelly and her family to have 2 full weeks of fun at their beloved Iron Blosam vacation spot. To boot,
Kelly's week is over a holiday which has prompted out of town family to enjoy the Iron
Blosam/Snowbird resort as well.
Kelly received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Westminster College, in Salt Lake City. She
then earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Wingate University in North Carolina. During her 4 years
in pharmacy school, she was the Class Representative for 2 years, held positions on the Student Senate
as the Standards Officer and Vice President, and held numerous active positions on the Student
Pharmacy Associations. During these times she was able to find the leader in herself and organize, lead
and create opportunities at the school of pharmacy level as well as on a national level. She continues to
work with the American Pharmacist Association, the Utah Pharmacy Association, and the American
Association of Diabetic Educators. She is involved with a Consulting group where she has been flown
to the East Coast for assistance in facilitating national seminars for many ‘thought leaders’ to help
evolve their companies/industries. Other interests besides pharmacy include bike riding, running,
playing kickball, paddle boarding and anything to do with Hot Air Balloons!
If elected to the Iron Blosam Board of Directors, Kelly would be excited to bring a new perspective
while still recalling her past experiences. She likes to help problem solve and make experiences great
for others. Plus, she has always had a soft spot in her heart for the friends and coworkers she has had at
Snowbird.

MARGIE ELIASON: The Iron Blosam is my winter home away from home. My husband (Ken
Ohlsen) and I spend the first 9 to 10 weeks of each year living in the Iron Blosam in our various units.
We became owners in 2009, and have been living the dream ever since. However, my history at
Snowbird goes back further; I first skied Snowbird and Alta in 1980, when, before joining the corporate
world, I spent two seasons ‘ski bumming’ while waitressing and living in Alta. Over the years, we
frequently skied Snowbird, and were delighted to be able to purchase units at the Iron Blosam to indulge
in our retirement dream. We are crazy avid skiers and spend the rest of the year pursuing other outdoor
pleasures (sailing, kayaking, hiking and gardening) in Washington.
I retired four years ago from The Boeing Company after a rewarding 28 year career in Engineering
Management for the Commercial Airplane division. In addition to working on the 787, 777 and 747
airplane programs, I was fortunate to be selected to represent Boeing on several non-profit boards and
fund raising leadership positions in the Seattle area. I was a loan executive to both the Arts Fund where
I campaigned for funds to create a $15 million endowment, and the Pacific Science Center, securing
corporate funding for programs that reach 1.3 million people yearly. Math and science education is a
passion of mine, and I represented Boeing on several education councils, and was a Junior Achievement
math volunteer for many years. I served as VP for the Washington Water Trails Association (a
statewide trail planning and development group). I am currently, again, the Treasurer for our HOA,
where I just converted our finances to QuickBooks. My undergraduate degree is in Chemical
Engineering, and I have a Master’s in Business Administration, both from the University of
Washington.
The Iron Blosam is a special place and the best property at Snowbird ☺. Being a multi-week resident of
the Iron Blosam gives me a different perspective than most of both the daily and longer term operations.
My goal as a board member is to represent you. To preserve the Iron Blosam’s classic ambiance while
striving to meet and exceed owners’ quality expectations, and to provide financial guidance to meet the
maintenance needs of a 40+ year old building. Thank you for your vote.
TED NEFF: As a current Iron Blosam Board member, Mr. Neff is seeking re-election to the Board.
He and his wife, Linda live in the Salt Lake Valley. They have owned units in the spring and fall for
over 30 years. They currently own three units during the fall season. Mr. Neff obtained a Bachelor of
Science degree from Weber State College and a Master’s degree from the University of Utah with an
Administrative Certificate. He has served as president of his small Home Owners’ Association for over
8 years and has been on their Board for two years since serving as president, served as the Personnel
Manager for the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office, served as president and board member of the Utah
Peace Officers’ Association, served on the supervisory committee of a local credit union and was an
adjunct professor for Salt Lake Community College and Weber State College. Mr. Neff lives locally, is
retired and is able to devote time and energy to serve one of his and his family’s most enjoyed vacation
locations, Iron Blosam Lodge. Currently he is completing his second year as president of the Board. He
has served as chair of the Nominating Committee and as the Board’s vice president. Considering
national and local financial conditions over the past several years, the Board has tried diligently to
preserve the value of Iron Blosam while maintaining a high quality resort. Every effort has been made to
use your money wisely, while making repairs, upgrading the facility and complying with American with
Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. I appreciate the support of Snowbird Corporation. Thanks to the Iron
Blosam management and staff for their dedicated service in making this an enjoyable resort to visit. I
would appreciate your vote. Thanks.
