The Battle of Fort Sumter What was the Battle of Fort Sumter? • The battle of Fort Sumter was the first battle in the Civil War changing the lives of many. • Only one person died, and very few were injured/hurt though, survived. • The battle lasted approximately 34 hours out of four years of war. • The North had a very little amount of ammunition and, yet continued to fire to show that they were still strong. • Only 82 soldiers including members of the military were the defenders of Fort Sumter. (North) • North surrendered leaving the South as Victors of this battle. WHO WILL WIN?! The Bombing of Sumter • The South was revolted by the fact they were being known as Americans so they decided to secede • The South sent ships of unarmed supplies to Fort Sumter knowing that the North was there • Decided to bombard the Fort unless the North fled • The North stayed and as a result the south stuck with there plan and bombed there fort Location??
