Professional training for safe work at height
TRAINING CENTRE POLYGON SINGING ROCK
Over more than two decades on international markets, SINGING ROCK has become the world's leading manufacturer of Personal Protective Equipment (the “PPE”). In an effort to provide its customers with comprehensive
services and solutions in the area of security of workers at height and above depth, SINGING ROCK was the
first in the Czech Republic to build a completely unique multifunctional training centre POLYGON.
POLYGON has been used for training of workers at height since the end of summer 2008. During that time,
several hundreds of workers at height have attended our training and educational programs. These facilities
create the ideal conditions for providing occupational health and safety (the “OHS”) training for work at height
and above depth, for testing PPE, for organizing industrial climbing contests and many other events associated
with presentation and use of products and techniques related to his area. A number of specific simulations allow
visitors to safely test proper techniques of safeguarding when working at height. All this directly under the supervision of an experienced trainer and using complete equipment for these activities.
With individual approach, cutting-edge equipment and great emphasis on the practical part, our trainings in
POLYGON in a short time became sought after among individuals and companies not only in the Czech Republic.
} POLYGON TRAINING PROGRAMS
At present, the POLYGON team uses their POLYGONs in Poniklá and Kladno
for training and testing in the area of work and rescue at height. POLYGON
offers pre-defined trainings as well as trainings “tailored” to the client's
needs. With regard to the client's specific conditions we also offer training
directly in his workplace, in a particular place where work at height is carried
out. Since operation in the workplace or climatic conditions often do not
allow for safe and effective training of climbers, there is the possibility of
using POLYGONs as an ideal and above all a safer and more effective option.
All trainings are in line with current EU and Czech legislation. In the system
of trainings, courses are divided into three basic classes which cover most
of the requirements for persons working at height. The basic, one-day training is Class 1 which includes for example manoeuvres on roofs and constructions. Classes 2 and 3 offer trainings which very often reflect a specific
activity – rope access, tree climbing, rescue. POLYGON also provides related
trainings dealing with inspection of PPE, familiarizing sellers with PPE as
well as trainings “tailored” to the client's needs.
Multimedia classrooms with modern equipment are available for the theoretical part. The practical part takes places in spacious halls where one can
find examples of many model situations for work at height and above depth.
POLYGONs also provide complete PPE equipment for safeguarding and manoeuvres of persons working at height. Trainees therefore have the opportunity to design, together with the trainer, efficient and safe equipment for
a specific activity. The complete equipment is lent to every participant free
of charge during the training.
}
Class 1
For workers who operate at height and above depth who
are in danger of falling from height or into depth, sliding
or caving in. These workers have a permanent foothold
during work. The use of PPE has rather preventive and
work positioning character. This is not work in hanging position.
Roofs and constructions
}
Class 2
For workers who have successfully completed Class 1.
Workers at height move in rope access using PPE. They
therefore carry out their work mostly in hanging position.
Class 2 is further divided according to the specialization
of worker or work group and by the place of work.
Rope access
Tree climbing
}
Class 3
For workers at height with proven experience and knowledge of Classes 1 and 2. The trainings focus on coordinating work teams, evacuation, rescue in work at height and
special lifting and lowering techniques.
Coordination of work teams
Rescue
POLYGON is not only about training but it is also space for testing products
and techniques by workers at height themselves. The presence during fallor other tests of equipment and the possibility to consult directly with the
development team are another significant benefits of our POLYGON.

IRATA
SINGING ROCK is certified
as IRATA training company.
SINGING ROCK is certified as IRATA training company.
The IRATA education structure divides trainings
into three technical levels:
SINGING ROCK is the first and so far the only
company in the Czech Republic to become
a member of the globally recognized association
IRATA.
– a rope access technician capable of performing
a specific range of rope access techniques.
IRATA – Industrial Rope Access Trade Association -– was founded in the UK in order to ensure
a safe working environment for workers at
height. In a quarter of century of its existence,
IRATA has become a leading expert in the field
of security in work at height, and in this field it
is the only global association with many member
organizations around the world.
Our newly opened IRATA courses therefore provide, in conjunction with out equipped certificated POLYGON, a unique opportunity to obtain
the best possible qualification for work at height
and above depth. After successful completion of
the training the participant receives an IRATA
certificate, which is valid around the world and
which is required by some foreign entities as the
only possible prerequisite to carry out work at
height.
This intensive five-day course is concluded by
a theoretical and mainly practical exam under
the supervision of an independent IRATA commissioner. In this mentally and physically challenging week, trainees will acquire a wide range
of access techniques used when working at
heights. An independent mastery of these is required to successfully pass the final exams. The
course is led by an experienced IRATA instructor,
whose individual approach reflects the trainees'
specific needs. In order to maintain the IRATA
standards, the course capacity is limited to eight
trainees.
IRATA
Level 1
Level 2
– an experienced rope access technician familiar
with Level 1 techniques as well as more
complex skills and rescue of the injured in rope
access.
Level 3
– a rope access expert qualified to supervise
the workplace during projects at height and
above depth. S/he is able to demonstrate skills
and knowledge required in Level 1, 2 and 3.
S/he has experience with the techniques and
related legislation. S/he has a comprehensive
knowledge of advanced rescue techniques.
Duration of training: 35 hours
(5 days including exam)
The validity of each certificate is 3 years.
POLYGON
PONIKLÁ
A training centre built in a picturesque valley of the Jizera river which offers a number of model situations for
work at height and above depth. POLYGON has a complete PPE equipment for safeguarding and operation of
persons working at height, which the participant can
borrow free of charge. In good weather, you can also
use the adjacent outdoor area for practising work on
power poles, tree climbing techniques or rescue from
a footbridge over the river. POLYGON is part of the
SINGING ROCK manufacturing factory and the trainees
can therefore look at the production or be present at
the product testing.
