If you are enrolled in a middle or early college program, you should complete the Application for Freshman Admission.
Transfer Admission Requirements
Transfer students are admitted based on their academic
records at the institutions from which they are transferring.

Other rules governing transfer credit include the following:
Courses must be in the same academic department that
Elon offers and must be similar in nature.
Courses that are in the same department but are not
similar in nature usually transfer as elective credit.
Courses with a grade of “C-” or better are transferred. Both
the hours (credits) earned and the course itself usually
transfer. The grade does not transfer.
Courses that are considered general college courses, such as
sociology, history or literature, usually transfer. Credit from
developmental courses does not transfer.
Transfer Credit
Students can earn credit for courses taken through college
transfer programs at accredited junior colleges or community
colleges, and for courses taken at accredited four-year
colleges and universities. Transcripts are evaluated and
credit is awarded on a course-by-course basis after you have
been accepted for admission to Elon. Two-year degrees do

Deadlines
The priority deadline for a transfer application is June 1
for the fall semester and December 1 for Winter Term and
spring semester. After these dates, transfer applications
will be considered on a space-available basis. Transfer
applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Typically
students are notified of a decision within four to eight
weeks from the time the application is complete.
OnTrack Online System
Elon will provide you a username and password to access
all information regarding your application within two to
five business days upon receipt of your application. You will
be able to follow all steps in the admissions process from
applying to being a deposited student.
Preregistration
Transfer students who have been accepted to Elon
and have paid their deposits are able to preregister by
telephone with the Academic Support Center. Fall semester
preregistration is held from June to mid-July, and spring
semester preregistration is from December to mid-January.
Information will be sent to accepted transfer students by
the Academic Support Center well in advance of these dates.
