It's not anything like as difficult to knit as most people think! It's actually incredibly
easy, says Louise Frederiksen, the author of this book. Everybody can knit – all you
need are two needles, a ball of yarn and a few techniques.
This book features 30 knitting patterns for both boys and girls, including everything
you need to make a versatile children's wardrobe – for new-borns, toddlers and
slightly older kids – from underwear to outerwear, from the fundamentals to the fine
details. All the designs are knitted in lovely, soft, warm and breathable materials that
are flexible and adapt their shape to the body, with a focus on fit and functionality.
Many of them include fine details – a little eyelet pattern, for instance – that create a
very personalised result. The book features designs for experienced knitters seeking
fresh inspiration and variety in their knitting lives as well as for newbies who want to
start with simpler patterns, feeling happy and comfortable with those before they
move on to new details and challenges. The difficulty level of the different knitting
techniques therefore varies, so that you can develop your skill level before moving on.
Louise Frederiksen trained as an industrial designer at Denmark's Design School
and has dedicated her whole professional life to designing and developing children's
clothes. Initially the founder, head designer and concept developer of the children's
clothing company 'molo', she has since set up the children's clothing company 'Louie
