1.factors –any number being multiplied
Example: 7 (factor) X 8 (factor) = 56
2. product – the result of multiplication
Example: 2 x 5 = 10 (product)
3. Composite number – a counting number that has 3 or more factors.
4. Prime number – a counting number that has only 2 factors, 1 and itself.
5. Pattern – a series of numbers or shapes that follow a set rule.
6. array – an arrangement of objects in equal rows. An array is used to
help with multiplication and division problems.
Ex. –
3 X 5 = 15 or 15 3 = 5
7. area-the measure, in square units, of the inside of a plane figure
Example:
The area of this rectangle is 6 square units.
8. perimeter – the distance around a figure
Example:
5cm + 5cm + 2cm + 2cm = 14cm
