Combined Gas Law
Textbook section 11.2
Today’s Learning Target
1.
Perform calculations using Boyle’s, Charles’s, and
the combined gas law.
Combined Gas Law
● Expresses the relationship among pressure, volume, and
temperature for a fixed mass of gas
● Equation:
Combined Gas Law Example 1
The volume of a gas at 300. K and 0.200 atm is 80.0 mL. What
volume, in liters, will the same gas sample occupy at 273 K and
1.00 atm?
Combined Gas Law Example 2
17 liters of gas has a temperature of 67oC and a pressure of 88.89
atm. What will be the pressure of the gas if the temperature is
raised to 94oC and the volume is decreased to 12 liters?
