LEGACY OF HAMMURABI
King Hammurabi of the Babylonian Empire left behind a legacy that was very influential for future civilizations. He died in
1750 B.C. Your job is to create a monument that highlights Hammurabi’s importance. You will be given a piece of grey
construction paper (slab of stone), and a statue depicting Hammurabi. Use pages 114-116 in your textbook, and your notes
for helpful information.

Your monument must include the following elements:
1) A written description of Hammurabi’s legacy to the world.
One of Hammurabi’s laws written in cuneiform and translated in English.
3) Hammurabi’s Statue
4) The final product has a unique and creative look.
REQUIREMENTS
The written description is a minimum of 7 quality
sentences. The summary includes the following
elements:

Introduction sentence that explains who
Hammurabi was and that he was an
important person in world history.

At least 5 supporting details. Each supporting
detail is its own sentence and each sentence
provides an explanation as to what
Hammurabi did and why these things make
him important/influential.

A concluding sentence that restates the
introduction in a different way.
