2 eggs
2 T. melted butter
2 T. vanilla (Mexican if you have
it)
21/2c. milk
2 c. sugar
2 c. sourdough bread, cut Into
1-inch cubes
1/3c. chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 325°. Beat the eggs and add the butter. vanilla and
milk. Gradually add the sugar and mix thoroughly until the sugar is
dissolved. Place bread cubes in the bottom of a 9-inch round baking
dish. Pour liquid over the bread. making sure all the pieces are saturated.
Sprinkle pecans over the bread and push them down into the bread.
Bake in oven for 50 to 60 minutes. Serves 8 to 10.
Whiskey Sauce:
1/2c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/2c. heavy cream
1/2c. Jack Daniels whiskey
Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Stir constantly over low
heat until mixture reaches a rolling bQt!. Pour a small amount over the
individual servings of bread pudding.
