Changes Single Item Mail
As of 1 January 2017
As of January 2017, the rates for sending mail will change. We have listed the most
important changes below. A complete overview of our products, services and rates can be
found at postnl.nl/tarieven2017.
Domestic single item mail
•The rate for ‘Nederland 1’ stamps will increase by € 0.05
to € 0.78.
•The rate for domestic Registered letters will increase
by € 0.20 to € 8.35.
•The rate for domestic Insured letters will increase
by € 0.05 to € 14.40.
International single item mail
•The rate for ‘Internationaal 1’ stamps will increase
by €0.08 to € 1.33.
•For all single item mail and parcels to cross border
destinations, excluding letters up to 250 grams, a new
zone classification will be introduced: EUR1, EUR2 and
World.
•For letters in the weight category of 250-2,000 grams
the rate will be € 9.31 for zone EUR1; € 11.97 for zone
EUR2 and € 14.63 for zone World.
•For Registered letters the rate will be € 11.95 for zone
EUR1; € 13.95 for zone EUR2 and € 16,95 for zone World.
•For Insured letters the rate will be € 17.45 for zone EUR1;
€ 19.45 for zone EUR2 and € 19.45 for zone World.
•The rates for parcels up to 2 kg without Track & Trace will
change. The rate will be € 9.31 for zone EUR1; € 11.97
for zone EUR2 and € 18.62 for zone World. The rates for
parcels up to 2 kg without Track & Trace to countries in
the former zone category EUR3, will be reduced to the
rate of zone EUR2.
•The rates for parcels with Track & Trace to countries in
the former zone category EUR3 will be reduced to the
rate of zone EUR2. This also applies to Registered and
Insured parcels.
Franking machine
•The franking machine rate for letters weighing up to
20 grams to domestic destinations will increase to € 0,72.
•The franking machine rate for letters weighing up to
20 grams to cross border destinations will increase
to € 1,23.
•The rates for franking machine letters weighing between
250 and 2.000 grams will also be based on the new zone
classification: they will be € 8.59 for zone EUR1; € 11.05
for zone EUR2 and € 13.50 for zone World.
Reply service
•The rate for domestic reply service items up to 20 grams
will increase by € 0.05 to € 0.70.
•The rate for cross border reply service items up to
20 grams will increase by € 0.08 to € 1.28.

Changes Bulk Mail
As of 1 January 2017
As of 1 January 2017, the rates for several products will change. The domestic rates listed below
do not include VAT. The cross border rates listed below are exclusive of VAT. A complete overview
of our products, services and rates can be found at postnl.nl/tarieven2017.
Domestic Bulk Mail
The rates for domestic Bulk Mail will increase on average
by 3.5%.
International Bulk Mail
The rates for International Bulk Mail will increase on average
by 3.7%.
Changes in weight categories
We have simplified our product range by adjusting the
weight categories between 200 and 500 grams for 2017.
These weight categories will be the same for the entire
product range, resulting in a orderly sequence of the
weight categories.
Weight categories 2016
200 gram – 300 gram
300 gram – 400 gram
400 gram – 500 gram
Mixed Bulk Mail
For domestic Mixed Bulk Mail the minimum order amount
will be reduced by over 20%, down to € 17.50. The minimum
order amount for Mixed Bulk Mail to cross border destinations will remain unchanged. As of January 2017 the rates for
Mixed Bulk Mail (to domestic and cross border destinations
likewise) will be based on weight categories, instead of a
combination of a fixed and a variable rate component. This
eases the way in which you can calculate the rate of your
Mixed Bulk Mail consignment.
Weight categories 2017
200 gram – 350 gram
350 gram – 500 gram
Miscellaneous
Door-to-door
The rates for Door-to-door distribution will increase on average by 3%.

Subscriptions P.O. boxes and reply services
The standard rates for P.O. box and reply service
subscriptions will increase to € 195 per year.
Business Safekeeping Service and Business Forwarding
Service
The rates for the Business Safekeeping Service and the
Business Forwarding Service will increase on average
by 3.5%
Collection and Delivery Service
The rates for the Collection and Delivery Service will increase
on average by 3%. The specific changes in these rates
depend on the number of days, the volume, the timeframe
and the area (urban/industrial or rural) of the delivery
address. You can find these rates on page 23 of the
Postal Rates (EN) document on postnl.nl/tarieven2017.
