Operation Continued:
Discount Features*: A discount feature applies discounts to applicable items in the store. The available discounts may be issued to
either all customers or to only those customers enrolled in a "member discount" program. This feature applies to weighed and nonweighed items.
Because this feature has a significant potential to facilitate fraud if not properly designed, the following criteria must be met:
 All calculations shall be rounded to the nearest cent
 The receipt shall be clear, easily understood when reading from left to right
 The total price of all weighed items shall be determined using the original net weight determination
The Following Forms of Member Discounts Are Available:
 Weighed item discount based on a fixed cents off of the total price
 Non-weighed item discount based on a percentage or fixed cents off of the total price
 Weighed item discount based on a fixed cents/ lb reduction
 Weighed item discount based on using a discount unit price instead of the original unit price
 GS1 DataBar coupon with minimum weight requirement and fixed cents off the total price
% Item Discount Key: A % Item Discount Key applies a discount to the total price of a selected item. When the "% Item Discount
Key" is selected, a window of selectable percentage discounts is displayed. The total price of the item is reduced by the selected
percentage.
Percentage Tare*: Percentage tare is a value expressed as a percentage (i.e., 5.6 %), that represents the percentage of tare material
compared to the gross or net weight of the commodity. ACE supports a range of 0.00% to 99.99%. If the device deducts both a fixed
tare and a percentage tare from the gross weight, the fixed tare shall be deducted first.
The tare weight shall not be rounded prior to subtracting the tare weight value from the gross weight. The tare value(s) must be
deducted first and then the final net weight value rounded off to the nearest scale interval. Rounding of the net weight is not performed
until the last mathematical operation.
*Screen saver: The screen saver mode engages when the terminal is in sign off or special sign off mode, the scale is in a gross load
zero balance condition, and the terminal has been inactive for a user specified period of time. The screen saver is deactivated when an
operator signs onto the terminal or if the scale is in an out of zero balance condition.
One of Two Screen Saver Modes Can Be Enabled:
1. When the screen saver option is enabled from Toshiba 4690 Operating System Version 6 Release 201 and subsequent versions, the
screen saver is a "floating" (moving) frame that contains a text title bar.
The Title Bar Contains:
 the make and model information "Toshiba MOD SUREPOS ACE CC 98-101"
 the statement "SCALE ZERO"
2. When the screen saver option is enabled from SurePOS ACE Version 7 Release 101 and subsequent versions, a user specified
image may also be specified along with the text title bar.
If the scale is not in a gross load zero balance condition when the operator signs onto the terminal and the operator attempts to enter a
weight entry, an error message prompts the operator to reweigh the item. The system will not accept a weight entry until the scale has
returned to a zero balance condition. The scale must be in a gross load zero condition before a weight transaction can begin.
