Algebra II Notes Unit 4 Section C
Solving Consecutive Integer Problems
Consecutive Integers
Consecutive Even Integers
Consecutive Odd Integers
Write an equation for each problem and then solve it algebraically.
EXAMPLE 1: The product of two consecutive positive integers is 42. Find the integers.
EXAMPLE 2: Two integers are consecutive positive even integers. If you multiply the smaller
integer with 4 times the larger it equals 84 more than twice the larger. Find the sum of the two
integers.
