Fall Steak Fry - September 1st @ 6 pm
The St. Philomena Men’s
Club is stronger than ever
and has planned another
fantastic year of activities
for the men of the Parish.
We will start the year out
with our Fall Steak Dinner on Wednesday September 1, 2010 at 6:00.
We’re firing up the grills,
so plan on joining us for
a tasty Alwan’s Ribeye
with all the fixins and
some cold refreshments,
all for just $12. Our
guests for the evening
will be several members
of the coaching staff from
Peoria Notre Dame High
School who plan to provide us with a sneak preview of their upcoming
seasons. Last year we
served over 125 dinners
so it is important that you
contact one of the officers to RSVP. Better yet,
simply return the enclosed envelope with your
dinner payment ($12) and
your 2010 membership
dues ($10). As an alterna-
tive, you can save yourself
a stamp and just drop the
envelope in the collection
basket at any mass. We
hope you can make it, and
“For God’s sake, bring
a friend”.

The Men’s Club worked
hard this past year to raise
a record amount of
money to support a number of great projects
around the St. Phil’s campus. The chart at the left
illustrates the events that
generated the income
during the 2009-2010
year. The funds we raise
are then put back into
our parish community
through grants that are
approved by our membership. Over 125
golfer’s participated in
our May Golf Outing at
Pine Lakes Golf
Course—our best year
ever! The ever popular
Men’s Club Smoker was
packed full of activities
and good times and a big
team of members helped
staff the kitchen at the
Jaycee’s International
Beer Festival. Get involved—we could sure
use your help.

The primary goal of the
Men’s Club is to promote
fun and fellowship among
the men of our parish.
The annual membership dues of $10 helps
support important projects around our church
and school. See the table
at the right for a list of
the parish support that we
provided during the
2009—2010 school year.

Long time Men’s Club members Tom Smith and Doug Heuermann serve up some
fresh crawfish to the winning bidders at last years PTO Dinner Auction. The
crawfish boil brought in $850 for the PTO. Look for it to appear again on this
years live auction.
