We will explore a high-level overview of the industry from where we’ve been, to where
we’re headed. With over 100 years of automotive industry under our belts, there’s a lot
of success and failure to discuss and learn from as we move forward into an exciting
and technologically advanced future. As our vehicles are becoming more complex with
added safety, convenience and connectivity technological features, we’ll review the good
and the bad that come with these advancements and what that means for our automotive

Charlie Vogelheim has been involved in the Automotive Industry for over 30
years. His multifaceted automotive career began at Kelley Blue Book where as
executive editor he played an instrumental role in transforming Kelley from a
regional guidebook to an internet powerhouse. After 20 years he joined J.D.
Power as a VP charged with their International Roundtables. Most recently
Charlie joined TPC Management as a partner where he is assisting with the
Auction Academy and business development for TPC and its client auctions.

depth and formality of the risk management program may vary depending upon the
service provided. Obviously, the repossession providers are one of the highest rated
risks in the lending and leasing community.

Tom Kontos is Chief Economist for KAR Auction Services Inc. Tom has
more than 25 years of experience in market research, financial analysis
and strategic planning. He is the author of Pulse, a report on economic
conditions and the new and used vehicle markets in the US and Canada,
and the Kontos Kommentary, a monthly e-mail report and video on
wholesale used vehicle price trends. His ADESA Analytical Services
team produces numerous value-added studies for clients and dealers. In 2016, Kontos
was awarded the Ed Bobit Icon of the Automotive Industry Award by the International
Automotive Remarketers Alliance and the National Auto Auction Association.
Steve Sweeney grew up in the business of employment. As President
of NEMR Total HR, Steve has been immersed in the rapidly growing HR
outsourcing industry for 16 years. Also a licensed insurance producer,
he routinely speaks to executives and business owner groups about
various HR best practices, outsourcing and employee benefit related
topics. Steve and his company work with business owners of all
industries and backgrounds helping them to build and improve their HR infrastructure
and manage “the business of having employees”.
Mike North is a Partner in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Audit and Assurance
Services Department. Mike supervises audits and reviews of financial
statements as well as the preparation of tax returns. Additionally, Mike
provides due diligence and transaction advisory services to private
equity and strategic clients. He is also involved in advising clients in
tax, accounting, reporting, compliance, and internal control matters.
Jonathan Hedy is the executive Vice President at ABCoA and oversees
daily operations and major initiatives, developing the strategy and
driving performance of ABCoA and its subsidiaries. He has over
seventeen years of experience in the automotive and subprime finance
industries, and has held roles in every department at ABCoA, learning
each aspect of the company, the industry it promotes, and customers
it serves. He is a licensed automobile dealer and frequent speaker at dealer compliance
and technology conferences.
Sammy Rabiei joined ABCoA in 2005 and acts as Product Manager,
a function designed to intersect business, technology, and user
experience. Sammy is a graduate of the University of North Florida with
a double major in Finance and Accounting.

Les McCook has served as the executive director of American Recovery
Association (ARA) since 2006, and has more than 40 years in the
recovery industry. Prior to joining ARA, McCook founded Preferred
Adjusters, Inc. in Austin and Temple, Texas and served as president for
more than 25 years. McCook brought innovation and forward thinking
to the association by overseeing the implementation of the ARA
recovery management software and also led the way for ARA to bring the License Plate
Recognition (LPR) cameras to the recovery industry. While in the recovery business,
McCook also served in the United States Army.
Gary Mott serves as president of FLD, Inc. Gary directs the
development and implementation of the company’s overall strategy
and growth objectives, and is responsible for FLD’s domestic and
international endeavors. Gary joined FLD in 1992 as operations
personnel and assistant to the President CEO of FLD. Throughout the
years, Mott’s career expanded with in the FLD organization holding
onto roles such as National Sales Representative, Director of Marketing, VP of Sales,
Vice President and now President and Principal of the privately held organization.
His dedication to the industry along with his passion for technology and process
improvement has enabled FLD to become one of the industry’s top privately held
remarketing firms.
Carol Fowler is Director of Business Development for FLD, Inc., one of
the largest privately-held technologies driven automobile remarketing
companies in the United States. Fowler was first introduced to the
automotive industry in the late 1970’s when she landed what she
believed to be a “part-time” position with the West Palm Beach Auto
Auction. During her tenure, Fowler was crossed trained in a multitude
of departments and became Fleet Manager before leaving the organization in 2003.
In 2003, Fowler made the move to FLD where her roles included transportation clerk
and director of transportation services prior to being promoted to Director of Business
Development. She is the account representative for the NVLA/FLD Remarketing
Cooperative and has enjoyed working with some of the top fleet and leasing professions
in the industry.
Linda Kester is a sales pioneer and a leading authority in the field
of sales and sales training. Internationally known for her book 366
Marketing Tips for Equipment Leasing, Kester teaches sales reps
how to thrive and achieve their goals in any market. Since 1996,
Linda Kester and The Institute for Personal Development have helped
thousands of sales professionals increase their bottom line. Her
reputation has been built on providing practical methods for success.

Rob Garland is the senior strategy director for Ally Financials
Commercial Transportation Group. Garland has been with GMAC/
Ally for 24 years and enjoys working with partners to build financing
solutions that work. Garland believes that in the next ten years it is all
going to be about finding new solutions for the ever-changing needs of
our mutual customers. He looks forward to working with the innovators
in this business that will develop these solutions.
George Klinke has been in the auto financial services business for over
25 years, helping create a major consumer leasing company in Dallas,
Texas and then worked for GE Capital Auto Financial Services in various
capacities for over 14 years. At GE he was involved in the sales of
leasing and was instrumental in the development of GE’s subprime auto
finance program. Following GE in 1998, Klinke organized and led the
Great Lakes Region in Chicago for Fairlane Credit LLC, leaving in 2000 to join Household
Automotive Finance Co. in San Diego, California. After leaving Household, Klinke was
Vice President, Sales for the First American Corporation in their Vehicle Title Division for
6 years. In the 3 years prior to joining LHPH, he was Executive Vice President, Sales for
Integris Financial, Inc.
Rick Lewis is the relationship officer for the specialty finance group
auto/light truck team eastern USA market with 1st Source. Lewis has
more than 15 years of experience in the financing of rental and leasing
vehicles. Prior to joining 1st Source in 2000, Lewis worked at ITT
Commercial Finance and Bombardier Capital.
Steve Auvenshine has served GM for 42+ years. Holding many
management positions in sales, service, marketing, parts, customer
assistance, dealer development, legal, fleet service and fleet sales.
Auvenshine, for the past 12 years has served as the Manager Business
Relations, Fleet Sales. His current role includes working with the fleet
management and fleet leasing companies and serves as the liaison for
most of the fleet associations.
Evan Polin, president, Sandler Training at The Training Resource Group,
brings a wealth of training and coaching experience to the conference.
He has spoken at national and regional conferences and has provided
sales, management, and customer service programs across the
country. Polin is a graduate of the University of Delaware and has
earned a Master’s Degree from The University of Pennsylvania. Evan
and his partner Chuck are the authors of the book “Selling Professional Services the
Sandler Way: Nobody Ever Told Me I’d have to sell”. He provides consulting, seminar,
and corporate in-house training and coaching to growing companies and professional
service firms seeking an increase in sales, profits and productivity.

Mark Thorne joined Cathedral Consulting Group in 2007. Prior to
joining the Firm, he worked for Wachovia Securities. Thorne served his
internship for The Manhattan Mortgage Company. His experience also
includes work at a nonprofit language school as Marketing Director.
Thorne enjoys working with small companies and the bandwidth of
experience they afford. Thorne received his Bachelor of Science degree
in business management from The King’s College in New York City and his Master’s in
Business Administration in the summer of 2014. He completed the training and received
his Certified Small Enterprise Advisor designation “CSEA” in August 2014.
Bill Holmes is the owner/operator of Holmes Motors, Inc. with
locations in MS, AL, and FL. He has 28 years of automotive industry
experience specializing in Leasing. His Portfolio of 3000+ units is
driving under a one of a kind program titled “The Integrity Program”.
Holmes manages 85 team members that perform sales, collections,
service, repossession, paint, transportation, and reconditioning.
Trey Poppenheimer has over 21 years in the automotive industry.
Poppenheimer received a degree in Business Administration and
Accounting from the University of Mississippi and his MBA from Baker
College. In 1996 he started working at Chrysler Financial. January
2001, Dixon Hughes Goodman (Formerly George B Jones) automotive
CPAs and Consulting and in 2004 he worked at Nuvell Credit Corp
(GMAC near Prime Leander). In July 2008 Poppenheimer opened first LHPH operation
in Memphis, TN. Currently he continues to operate that location and a 2nd in Olive
Branch, MS.
Brenden Somerville works at Somerville National Leasing and
Somerville Hino, serving as the Assistant General Manager and
Vice-President. Somerville’s approach is hands on, understands that
providing a customer-driven solution can only manifest from a deep
understanding of the individual client. Since the inception of his career
in the automotive sector, he has industriously exposed himself to every
aspect of the business his Grandfather started over 65 years ago. Working side by side
with his father, William Somerville, they strive for sustained growth of a business that
can meet the needs of diverse marketplaces. Somerville believes that surrounding you
and your business with the right- customers, B2B relationships and staff; is paramount
to success and mutual prosperity.
Pete Stevens is from Detroit Michigan and is the General Sales
Manager at Corporate Fleet Services, Inc. He has 7 years of experience
in the fleet leasing & management industry and graduated in 2010 from
Indiana University with a B.S. in Management.

Justin Reitman is a Leasing Specialist at Intek Leasing. A licensed
attorney and graduate of the University of Miami, Reitman joined
the family business in 2015 after working at Square in New York
City. Since joining Intek, he has managed the company’s used
truck inventory, created tools to automate the sales process, and
developed a loyal customer base from the Livery Industry to Towing
and Equipment Leasing.
Alain Nana-Sinkam is a 24-year auto industry veteran, currently
serving as Senior Director of Industry Solutions for ALG, providing
data-driven solutions to answer some of the biggest questions
facing the North American auto industry. He is responsible for ALG’s
relationships with clients in the finance, rental, investment and
software sectors, as well as European OEMs. Alain previously worked
at Wells Fargo and HSBC Auto Finance and started his career at an
auto dealership.
Josiah Cimino is a manager for RVI Group, the auto industry’s
leading residual value insurance company. Cimino joined RVI’s
analytical services team in 2011 with responsibilities for RVI’s
residual guidebook production and lease portfolio re-forecasting. In
his most current role, he leads account management and business
development for the residual value insurance business, with a focus
on the creation of specialized insurance structures that help meet the residual risk
management objectives of RVI’s clients. Cimino holds a B.S.in Business Economics
from SUNY Cortland and an M.S. in Finance from Villanova University.
Joe Segrave joined the automotive industry in 2005 in a high volume
used car department of a Toyota Store in Asheville, NC. Segrave
thought he would work his way through that business and eventually
acquire his own franchised store. However, the overwhelming cost
associated with doing so made him explore other options. With
family experiencing success in the BHPH industry, Segrave explored
the LHPH & BHPB business models. In October of 2010, Benchmark Auto Sales, Inc.
was founded. Segrave currently maintains about 1,250 active accounts. Experience
great success they opened another branch in Hendersonville, NC in 2015 and a 3rd
branch in Morehead City, NC in 2016. With plans to open another branch at the end of
2017, Segrave sees no ceiling to the potential of the leasing model.

John Gowans has over 30 years of experience in the Leasing industry,
which includes acquisitions and integration of acquired companies. He
has worked 10 years at GE Capital Fleet Services as Managing Leader
Western Canada, 3 years at Freightliner as General Sales Manager, and
17 years as Vice President and General Manager responsible for WS
Leasing and Mercado Capital, Divisions of Westminster Savings, where
he started the Division and grew it to a $270 million portfolio for the Credit Union. He
now works at First West Leasing as Director, Leasing, and a Division of First West Credit
Union. First West Credit Union has over $11 billion in assets and has tripled its leasing
portfolio in the last 3 years to over $123 million.
Scott Crawford is the president of Wilmar, Inc. and is past president of
