A presentation folio is essentially a website where you can feature academic and professional
accomplishments. Think of presentation folios as an in-depth online resume. You can create a
variety of pages to highlight biographical information, example work, experiences abroad, work
experience, and whatever else you would like to display. You have the ability to customize your
folio and publish it so it is accessible online.
Creating a Presentation Folio
Logging into Taskstream
You can access Taskstream through myHome. Navigate to myhome.ithaca.edu in a web
browser and use your Netpass username and password to log in. On the left side of your
browser window, click the Taskstream icon
in the IC Services bar to access Taskstream.
Create a New Folio
To create a folio, first click the Folios and Web Pages tab at the top screen in Taskstream. In the
field, “New Folio/Web Pages Title,” type in the folio name of your choice. This will be the title of
your web site and will be displayed on your home page. Then click Create New to get started.
Templates
Select a template for your folio. Most users will want to use a “General Purpose Templates” for
their folio. In the drop down menu that appears select one of the “Presentation Folio
Templates.” You can also choose not to use a template and create your folio “from scratch.”
Once you’ve made your choice, click Continue.

Themes and Styles
Select a theme for your folio by clicking on one of
the available options in the “All Themes” area.
Once you choose a theme, you can also choose
the navigation layout (horizontal or vertical) as
well as the color scheme you’d like to use. Click
Apply at the top to confirm your choices or
Cancel to choose a different theme. Your folio’s theme can be changed in the future by clicking
the “Styles” tab. Changing your theme will not affect the content you’ve added to your folio.
Editing Your Folio
To add or edit content in your folio, click the “Edit Content”
tab. From this window, you will be able to customize and
add content to the individual pages of you folio.
Areas and Sections
Areas are essentially pages in your website. You can add, edit, delete or copy the areas in
your folio. If you want to add a new page or “area” to your folio that links from the home page,
select the title of your folio at the top of the left-hand navigation pane, and click Add Area. If
you want to add a new area within an existing area (as a sub-page), select the existing area and
click Add Area.
Sections allow you to create headings to break up the content on a folio page. You can
upload a variety of content, such as images, videos, links, and other attachments, within a
section. Sections help you organize the contents of your page and give your site a more refined
look.
Uploading Artifacts to your Folio
Artifacts can be uploaded to your folio areas and sections by using the toolbar along the bottom
of the Taskstream window. Click an available tool to add content to your folio. For example, if
I’d like to attach a resume in the form of a PDF document to my “Resume” section, I would
simply click Attachments and choose my resume PDF from my computer to upload. You can
add multiple types of content to a single area or section.
