Central Locations
Situated in the heart of Queenstown, next to Lake Wakatipu, Tatler and Prime offer stunning
views, ambience, service, wine lists and cuisine.
Tatler and Prime are forty metres apart and are an easy walk from the main hotels and key
visitor destinations.
Our venues are ideal for hosting groups of 10 to 250. For dine-arounds, we can seat a total of
290 guests between the two restaurants.
In conjunction with neighbouring restaurants, Tatler can also host marquee events for up to
900 guests.
Event Expertise
Our professional team of event managers, chefs, mixologists and wait staff have extensive
experience in the function industry in New Zealand and overseas.
Our team is experienced at hosting gala dinners, weddings, awards nights, fashion shows and
conferences.
No venue hire fees
Instead of hire fees, we recommend a minimum spend depending on day of week and time of
year. A set up fee may apply for certain types of event, but this will be waived when an agreed
food and beverage spend is reached. Certain types of event, such as concerts, may also incur
a security presence charge.
The chart below outlines each venue’s capacity and minimum spend requirements.
Please note that this chart excludes certain dates, such as New Year’s Eve and Winter Festival
opening. Please enquire about the minimum spend for exclusive events on these dates.

Conferences and Meetings
Whether you are planning a business meeting, a team-building exercise or a seminar, we can help you
with the right venue. At both Tatler and Prime we offer venue-only rental options as well as competitivelypriced Day Delegate packages that include morning, afternoon tea and lunch catering. Day Delegate
packages are priced from $50 per person.
Rugby and Special Interest
Our regional cuisine, local wine list, stylish decor and audio-visual facilities make Prime and Tatler the
perfect venues to watch international sporting events or to host “slide evenings” for sporting, cultural or
social groups. We have even developed a special beverage and menu package for rugby test matches.
Gala Dinners
Prime’s stage, show lighting, data projector and sound system make it a popular choice for gala dinners.
You can build your own menu from our innovative food and beverage packages or leave it to our
experienced team of chefs and event managers to design the perfect menu.
Weddings
The perfect wedding day needs the perfect reception and Prime and Tatler have hosted post-ceremony
functions, large and small, for many happy brides and grooms.
We offer a wedding package that will take the stress out of the big day and we are happy to work with
the bride and groom to devise exactly the right menu, theme and beverage options.
Prime and Tatler are also popular venues for engagement parties, rehearsal dinners and post-wedding
barbecues.
Flexible Food and Beverage Options
At Tatler and Prime we offer a variety of catering styles including casual barbecues, buffets, plated
meals, canapes, finger food and degustation.
All functions at Tatler and Prime include the printing of individual menus that describe the food and
beverage options from which guests are invited to choose. Your logo can be included if required. All

Stand-up Functions
A cocktail party is a great way to offer hospitality in an informal setting at a price to suit even the most
budget-conscious client. $16.50 per person will provide three types of canapé served over the course
of an hour. We also offer a “fork and walk” menu with more substantial dishes.

Situated on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, Prime features stylish decor and stunning

The restaurant’s floor to ceiling windows reveal Queenstown’s lake and mountains and
elegant lighting and modern interior design create a welcoming ambience by day and

Curtains and furnishings divide the large floor space into several intimate areas and
these can be moved around to accommodate one large event, making Prime the ideal
venue for large and small groups.
Prime is an upstairs venue with an entrance from the lake-side walkway and another
from Rees Street with a lift.

This historic restaurant was built in the late nineteenth century and is an iconic part
of Queenstown’s heritage. The warm, wooden interior is complemented by lake and
mountain views from the outdoor tables.
Tatler is the perfect venue for conference dinners, weddings, lunches, dinners and cocktail
parties.
Tatler’s upstairs Spectator Room exudes historic charm and is a popular venue for predinner drinks when a group takes exclusive use of the restaurant. For smaller groups, the
Spectator Room is an ideal space for a private dinner party, preceded by drinks on the
balcony.
The Spectator Room is also an ideal venue for meetings and small conferences.
In addition to the Spectator Room, the rear section of the main downstairs restaurant,
known as The Library, is a semi-private dining area for 20 guests.

Marquee Events
In association with neighbouring Ballarat Trading Company, Tatler is pleased to offer an in-town venue solution for large
groups.
Together we have developed a marquee option that accommodates 500 guests for cocktails and, with the addition of
Winnies, above the Ballarat Trading Company, we can accommodate 900 guests.

Although Mall marquee functions are held throughout three separate
venues, clients only need to deal with one event manager and can choose
from one set of menus, one list of beverages and can even request just
one invoice.
In May 2011, Tatler, Winnies and the Ballarat Trading Company hosted
the farewell fuction for TRENZ, an annual tourism trade show that brings
together international buyers and New Zealand tourism operators. May
2011 was the first time it has been held in the Southern Lakes region.
900 guests were invited to the farewell function in The Mall, which was
planned and executed solely by our teams at Tatler, Winnies and the
Ballarat Trading Co.

Conferences and Meetings
Prime and Tatler are ideal venues for meetings and conferences,
featuring views, ambience and facilities not found in many hotel
function rooms.
Tatler's Spectator Room is an intimate and inviting space with an
enclosed balcony for breakout.
Prime is a spacious, modern venue with a balcony suitable for
breakout on fine days although heating and cover is available even
on wet days.
Prime is located right next to the main Queenstown Pier so if your
team-building exercise involves fishing, you're perfectly placed to
enjoy your trout for lunch.
If your event requires the competitive element to be indoors, what
about virtual sports with a Nintendo Wii?
At both Tatler and Prime we offer venue-only room hire options as
well as competitively-priced Day Delegate packages that include
morning, afternoon tea and lunch from $50 pp.
Prime and Tatler are fully staffed and provide full on-site catering
and bar service. Venue-hire and Day Delegate packages include use
of data projectors and television (Sky by arrangement at Prime).
