Description
Meets STAR Standard The Heartsaver Bloodborne
Pathogens Course is designed to meet Occupational
Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when
paired with site-specific instruction. The course covers
the general OSHA Standard for bloodborne pathogens
training for anyone with a reasonable chance for
occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens. It uses
the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and the
slogan "Make a PACT, Know How to Act," to help
students learn and easily recall bloodborne pathogens.
By connecting your teaching practices to brain theory
you will learn how to create brain compatible learning
environments and activities that make brain
connections in all domains of learning
Meets STAR Standard This training will address
issues of child abuse, and mandated reporting for
practitioners in the early care and education setting.
Participants will learn the indicators of abuse, the types
of abuse, their role as a mandated reporter, how to
report suspected abuse and complete the necessary
paperwork. A brief review of the Child Protective
Services law will be reviewed as well.
This training is focused on how to support staff with
the strategies that will provide a positive, nurturing and
supportive environment to help children gain socialemotional competency.
Meets STAR Standard This course is designed to
provide insight and techniques in the world of Child
Care Ergonomics- lifting, bending, etc
Participants will identify the developmental
enhancements that music can provide to young
children. Explore integrating brain based musical
activities into curriculum, routines, and transitions.
In this his workshop participants will reflect on their
own learning and communication styles. They will be
guided to identify the characteristics of collaborative
partnerships and potential challenges that can be
addressed in a mutually supportive team approach to
the care and education of young children.
