PETS: Arlington County follows federal health regulations prohibiting the presence of live animals (including
dogs and pets) in farmers markets due to the presence of prepared foods, raw fruits and vegetables, and
other foodstuffs. Please leave your pets at home or be prepared to secure them outside the market
perimeter.
PUBLIC TRANSIT: The market is easily accessible on Saturdays by Metrobus on Route 23A which transits Old
Dominion Drive and N. Glebe Road. The closest Metrobus stop to the Marymount University main campus is
the corner of N. Glebe Road and N. 26th Street. Marymount University students and visitors can also use the
MU buses that run between the main campus and the Ballston Metro Station.

CARRYING PURCHASES: Best to plan ahead on how to convey those wonderful purchases back home.
Vendors may have plastic bags, but they can be hard on your hands and not very environmentally sound.
Bringing reusable tote bags with handles is a good idea. And if you are the type to buy more than is easy to
carry, consider purchasing a folding shopping cart. Just be sure to label your cart so no one ends up with your
purchases!
FOOD SANITATION: Be sure to wash fruits and vegetables before consuming them.

Alliance, working with Marymount University and Field to Table, Inc., the nonprofit manager of the market,
have brought this market to life. Its continued growth and success depend in large measure on you. We
need volunteers to help staff our market tent, assist with market advertising, and serve on the Marymount
Farmers Market Committee for such fun tasks as deciding what future vendors should join the market. If

PARKING: Customers who live less than a mile from the market are encouraged to walk or bike to the
market rather than drive. A beautiful university pedestrian bridge stretches across Yorktown Boulevard to
the farmers market site. Market customers walking from the south may access it from the Marymount
student housing complex just south of the Old Dominion Drive/Glebe Road intersection.
Customers driving to the market should park in the university’s Blue Garage at 4655 Yorktown Boulevard.
Vehicle access to the garage is from Yorktown Blvd. Parking is free for market customers on Saturdays.
Parking on the second level of the garage gives market customers the closest access to the farmers market.
Please do not park in the neighborhoods surrounding the market.
Market customers with special needs and a displayed handicapped parking permit may park in the surface
parking lot immediately adjacent to the market. If driving northbound on N. Glebe Road, turn right into the
campus immediately after the intersection with Old Dominion Drive. If driving southbound on N. Glebe
Road, turn left onto the Marymount campus after passing the Washington Golf and Country Club. Proceed
to the guard checkpoint to gain entry into the parking lot.
