JOB SUMMARY:
This position provide staff assistance on a multitude of difficult-tocomplex projects and programs pertaining to the administration of the
President’s Office. This position requires the ability and desire to work
independently, exercising judgment and initiative, and to provide quality
services to students and other clients of the college.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Receive calls and visitors in accordance with office policy, screen and process incoming
correspondence, and manage calendar for President.
2. Perform advanced administrative skills to include; keyboarding; creating and maintaining
databases; organizing and presenting information in tables, charts, and spreadsheets;
proofreading correspondence and documents; composing drafts of correspondence
independently; organizing and maintain office files and confidential files using other
standard office equipment.
3. Assist in the provision of office services. Independently handle routine paperwork and
day-to-day problems/questions.
4. Independently interpret and apply a variety of policies and procedures.
5. Act as liaison between the President and the faculty, staff, students, parents, and
community.
6. Maintain effective working relations within the College community.
7. Handle confidential records and information and observe strict confidentiality at all
times.
8. Demonstrate the highest stands of confidentiality, ethics, loyalty, honesty and integrity.
9. Utilize various computer software programs for administrative related functions.
10. Requisition office supplies and equipment.
11. Provide assistance to various departments as needed.
12. Assist the President with public relations activities and with College special events.
13. Work with Boards, Committees and other Departments on various projects as directed by
the President.
14. Coordinate building/campus events, i.e. workshops, seminars, training, for outside
companies and organizations.
15. Maintain building/campus calendar of events. Coordinate room setups including
equipment usage.
16. Perform other duties as assigned by the President.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, STANDARDS, AND TRAINING:


Associates Degree in office administration, business administration or equivalent from a
regionally accredited institution
Minimum of three (3) years of full-time secretarial/clerical experience
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:



Minimum typing speed of 70 wpm
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, administrative software applications and desktop
publishing
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field from a regionally
accredited institution
Experience with AS400 or equivalent software
