As a result the following girls have achieved awards. Level 1 Iona Connelly - Merit Isobel Ellis - Merit Louise (Luli) Mountbatten - Merit Amelia Sharp – Merit Level 2 Amelia Mowat – Merit Ella Milne – Distinction SPORTS DEPT Athletics What a fantastic atmosphere it was on sports day. There were superb performances and a real House spirit shown throughout the day. Sports day was contested fiercely with Kenelm and Wingfield Digby sharing 1st place in the Lower 5th competition, Reader Harris winning the Middle 5th trophy and Kenelm winning the senior trophy. The overall winners were Kenelm. This has been a fantastic season not only for the teams but also for individuals. In the North Dorset Competition our Lower 4 and Lower 5 team are both champions with Middle 5 team being placed 2nd. The Junior / Intermediate team has won all of its athletics meetings. Tamsin Miller and Mary Butler have been selected to compete for Dorset in the English Schools Championships in Gateshead on 8th/9th July – we wish them the best of luck Biathle Olivia Manson has been selected for Great Britain to compete in the European Biathle in Portugal during the summer holidays Cricket Congratulations to Tilly Scull who represents Somerset County at Under 15 level Netball Although it is not the netball season we have some performances to be proud of. Rosie Read has been selected for Somerset Satellite Squad. Also, congratulation to Phoebe Wells, Eliza Gilmore, Alice Foulger who have been selected for the Somerset County Performance Academy Squad. Tennis This term, the tennis teams have been outstanding. There has been a 91 per cent win rate with only 5 teams losing just one game. The 2nd team, 3rd team, Under 15C, Under 14, A, B,C and D team all having an unbeaten season. The Under 14 team (Tilly Scull, Jemima Nettleton, Amelia Etherington, Eliza Gilmour) won the North Dorset Championships with the Under 15 team (Ella Milne, Tallulah (Toots) Covell, Emilie Tubbs, Thea Berry) taking Bronze in the same competition. Eliza Gilmour and Jemima Nettleton did not lose a set all season. Tilly Scull has represented Somerset County Tennis at under 15 level. Swimming The school house swimming gala was an exciting hard fought competition. The results were as follows: U13 Kenelm U14 Kenelm U15 Aldhelmsted East Seniors Dunholme Kayleigh Parker won the inaugural Messiter Cup in the high performance swimmers showpiece event All our swimmers have been making waves in the swimming world this term with their performances. The school swimming team have been unbeaten at Under 18 and Under 16 level this term. Six girls qualified for the South west Regionals and ended up with 3 Regional Champions – Jess Carroll (2 events) and Kayleigh Parker (1 event) Elizabeth Allen has made it to the British Nationals 1500m open water which will be held at the end of July. 6 Rebecca Flack and Elizabeth Allen have qualified for the Welsh Summer Championships in August Olivia Flack has qualified for the English Championships in August Kayleigh Parker, Jess Carroll and Harriet Watts have qualified for the British Championship in Sheffield during July Target Sprint Six girls (Hannah Collin, Lucy Fortescue, Mary Butler, Christa Cripwell plus Araminta Stubbs and Olivia Manson) were selected for the National Target Sprint Championships which are to be held in Cardiff but only Araminta Stubbs and Olivia Manson are able to compete in this event during the holidays.
