Doriot Doodles – November 2016
Three hundred sixty-two (362) unreached People
groups are now represented in America, placing the US in the top 5 of countries
with the most unreached groups!!* The people of the world have come to us,
how can we best reach them??
It’s been 2 months since we moved to Wheaton and what a whirlwind it’s
been. We’ve gotten the two older boys settled into Public school for the first
time. Joshua and Asher are enjoying the extra time they have with Rachel. It
seems like the last two months has been a steady flow of meeting new people as
we make contacts with those already working to reach Muslims in the area, or
those who are wanting to be involved. Jon is co-teaching a class on disciple
making movements. There are 15 students from local churches and colleges in
the area. These are lay people of all ages and walks of life who are looking to
learn more about reaching out to the many Muslims in the area. Rachel is taking
the class for the first time as well!
If you stop reading now, let the last thing you read be this: God is working in the
hearts of newcomers in the Chicagoland area and you and I get to be a part of it!
We are doing our best to demonstrate love, help them discover Jesus through his
word, and equip disciples to become disciple-makers! For more, check out the
next page…

First day of public school
Do nothing from
selfish ambition or
conceit, but in
humility count others
more significant than
yourselves. Let each
of you look not only
to his own interests,
but also to the
interests of others.
Have this mind
among yourselves,
which is yours in
Christ Jesus.

Seeking Refuge
The people of the World have come to us, how can we best
reach them??
“Today, the number of people in our world displaced from their homes by
violence and persecution is unprecedented in human history…By far, the greatest
force driving this crisis is Syria. Nearly half of Syria’s population is thought to be
displaced or killed. Four million Syrians have now taken refuge in neighboring
countries like Jordan, Iraq, Turkey and Lebanon, struggling to build new lives for
themselves in regions far from home.” *http://www.worldrelief.org/refugee-crisis
We have recently met a Syrian refugee family who has been in the US
nearly two years. He has been attending a gathering of other Arabic speakers
and is seeking truth. Pray that his whole family would be transformed by God’s
Word! Please pray for the M&M Family and their 4 children who are just a bit
younger than our kids.
Joshua update
Joshua is recovering well from his accident and surgery. We will continue
to provide care by massaging his cheek twice a day for 2 months when he has a
follow up appointment. Thank you for your prayers.
