Recently we visited Glenwood SS and joined other schools
in our area for a poetry presentation . It was very funny
with lots of mix-ups with names. We heard about
All Year 3 students at National Minimum standard the “Pansome Hince”. It was a lively, totally engaging,
visually rich theatre experience.

Recently Arafin and Oscar’s mum, Shantam, came to
help us with our painting skills in preparation for
Gympie Art Gallery Gold Rush Competition. It was a
Very pleasant morning and Liam said “This is awesome!”
Father’s Day / Special Friend Day
Oct. 20/21
On Friday 4 Sept. we had a great afternoon to
celebrate how important a good male role
model is in a child’s life. This may be a dad or a
special friend. Our billy cart making was lots of
fun and we made a book of How to make a billy
cart “, if you are interested! We were really
happy to have Mr Bevan Day, Mr Quinn and
Mr Kevin Day here to share in our billy cart races
and our sausage sizzle.

Thank you to Mrs Ross for a wonderful
experience recently at the Gympie Art Gallery.
We were able to further our progress towards
an entry for the Gold Rush Art Competition.
Great news
I recently heard that 2 past pupils had been highly
commended, on not only their behaviour, but their
educational initiative and skill. This was most interesting
in that these past students stood out amongst their
counterparts ,who had been in very large private schools
for their entire schooling life.
Quality not Quantity!
Permaculture Planet - Culminating Activity
On Monday we celebrated the end of our science unit with
a lunch prepared from our permaculture garden. It was
great to see some of our friends here to share in the meal.
We have been working hard in putting all of our
thoughts into a Power Point presentation to demonstrate
our understanding of the unit of work.
Mr Zhou and Mr Costa telling us about magnetrons in the B.O.M building.
Making pasta
Mt Kanigan/Kanighan excursion!
What ever the pronunciation, this is a great view. Luckily for us , we were
able to coordinate a six monthly visit by engineers from both Telstra and
the Bureau of Meteorology, to understand the mountain’s importance for
telecommunications in the district. We have just finished models of both
the tower and radar using information from our visit.

Roald Dahl Performance in Maryborough
Children’s author Roald Dahl uses the most exciting of made up words
like “hoggarish” and “mugglewump”! We had the most wonderful
time last Friday, at the Brolga Theatre in Maryborough. The Revolting
Rhymes and Dirty Beasts performance was spectacular. All students
gave it the thumbs up! Leading up to the performance we constructed
our own rhymes , poems and warnings inspired by Roald Dahl.
We also visited The Bond Store and the Military Museum
Warning
Watch out for a snickered and
wicked beast.
He is terribly selfish and
horribly mean.
He uses awkward disguises
which blend in with nature.
He hides in places to eat little
children.
It is The Enormous Crocodile!
Latest enrolments!
We were so fortunate to have 2 chicks hatch before the holidays. There
was much excitement today with our 2 new enrolments!

“That was great!”
The Hairy Turtle
Beware, beware my dirty beast
As it moves slowly from the east
With three turtle heads
It eats meat instead.
Even though it may look cute
Its tail is stronger than a ute
That’s not the least
It’s wings are as big as a beast.
Although it looks scary
It’s very polite and hairy
His favourite meal is little bugs,
The tastiest of all are slugs.
There is one thing people don’t
understand
A three headed turtle is not in
demand
Though you may have caught a
peek
Don’t expect to see it past this
week!
