L: it’s a busy weekend friends!
P: yes, there are picnics and parades; sales and
fireworks.
L: yes, there’s a lot to do – but this time right now is
special;
P: this time is set apart for worship.
L: let us then come before the Lord in prayer
P: Lord, we are grateful for all that this season in our
country means: democracy and freedom. Yet we
confess that our country is not all that it can be and
we are moved by our beloved hymn’s wording:
“May God thy gold refine, til all success be
nobleness, and every gain divine.” So, Lord, refine
us we pray. Burn off the impurities in our land and
in our hearts. Help us in this hour to more boldly
dare to follow you. We pray in the name of our
Lord, Jesus Christ whose mission is to make all
things new. Amen.

1. We welcome all visitors to our Worship time
today. We are glad you’re here. Our slogan is
Open Hearts. Open Minds. Open Doors. We are
the people of the United Methodist Church.
2. During the month of July, if you are needing

3. VSB needs 60 empty cereal boxes for a
project. You can drop them off in the office! If
you have any questions please contact Christy
Clemens or Shauna.
4. VBS will be held at the First United Methodist
Church July 11-15 from 9-12. The Registration
Fee is $10 per child/ $20 per family (2 or more
siblings). If you would like a registration form,

5. UMW Summer Cookout is Tuesday, July 12 at
Kathie Prins Home. Deb Ketzel and her husband
will be our guest. We will be sharing a short clip
that Mark Miller has put together on the young
girl we are sponsoring. All women of the
church are invited to join us.
