Odisha in "Swadesh Darshan" Scheme to get 76.5 Cr. Development of Gopalpur, Tampara, Barakul and Satapada Bhubaneswar, 06/10/ 2016: Odisha will be provided central financial assistance to the tune of 76.5 Cr. for development of coastal circuit Gopalpur, Tampara, Barakul and Satapada undr "Swadesh Darshan" scheme. About 15.3 Cr. has been released as first instalment for the purpose. Infrastructure growth and beach development and will be the priority on circuit tourism in the state, said Sri Ashok Chandra Panda, Minister, Tourism & Culture. Minister Sri Panda said that although Odisha was included in "Swadesh Darshan" scheme, till date no project was approved but demand of State Government has been considered recently for tourism development in the above places which will be a major boost for state tourism. Roads, water sports, jetty, water park, solar street lighting, floating restaurants will be included in the above development. Besides, tourist reception centres will be opened at all these places. Sand art and maritime museum will come up at Gopalpur while implementation of solid waste management and sewerage treatment plant has been mooted. Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Tourism Department, Government of Odisha will work as the nodal officer while Odisha Tourism Development Corporation(OTDC) has been entrusted for implementation of the projects, said Minister Sri Panda.
