Arrive by 9:00 a.m. ● The Spelling Bee is Friday, March 3rd at 10:00 a.m. ● Field trip to Fresno County Science Fair March 14th at 10:30 a.m. ● Chick Chat begins Wednesday, February 8th, at 11:00 a.m. MHSC STEM FAIR The first MHSC STEM fair was a great success! We had 13 students present a variety of interesting and informative projects to those in attendance. Thank you to all of you who participated and think about joining in on the fun next year! Field Trip to Fresno County Science Fair March 14, 2017 at 10:30-12:30 p.m. (or as long as you’d like to stay) Location: Fresno Fairgrounds Cost: Free The Fresno County Science Fair is an annual competition for students in grades 6-12. The Fair provides an opportunity for discourse among like-minded, high-achieving middle and high school students across the Central Valley. The Fair fosters an interest in and an excitement about science, mathematics and engineering while offering a rewarding competitive setting in which students can showcase their research projects and set the stage for the rest of their academic careers. This is a regional fair with winners moving on to the state competition. March 14th is the only day the public is allowed to view the projects. Sign-ups will be on the board with more information. If you have any questions, contact Denise Cudd. 5th and 7th Grade PE Testing Date: Tuesday, March 21st or Thursday, March 23rd Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.(testing should take about 20 minutes) Place: Mountain Home School See your Charter Teacher for more information! Chick Chat begins February 8th!! All 5th through 12th grade ladies are invited to join us Wednesdays 9:30 to 10:30 am for Chick Chat beginning February 8th. Through weekly chapter meetings facilitated by high school leaders, Chick Chat helps middle school girls learn from their peer mentors and better understand and address the issues they face. In doing so, the girls develop confidence, leadership skills and compassion. (An adult sponsor will always be present and assist in the planning and facilitating of Chick Chat meetings.) Glacier High SCHOOL NEWS (Oakhurst) College & Career Information ● 11th & 12th Graders: U pcoming SAT Test: March 11th and May 6th at YHS - Please be aware that there are deadlines for when a student can register! N ow is the time to create a username & password as this is the site that you’ll use to sign-up to take SAT and/or ACT college entrance exams! www.collegeboard.org College Board has also partnered with Khan Academy to create official SAT practice for all students & is free! ● Seniors: FAFSA- Free Application for Financial Aid is available! Please apply ASAP https://fafsa.ed.gov/ ● If you missed the Senior Meeting (January 25th) it is important that you meet with your charter teacher!
