About Us
DanceWest is the community dance organisation for West London. Based at the Lyric
Hammersmith we deliver classes, projects and programmes for everyone 1-99 years.

DanceWest Parties
Get the party started with our fun, fresh and energetic dance parties! Our classes are
delivered in the professional dance studio and a great addition to your visit to the Lyric
Hammersmith.
Under 5’s
Perfect for children aged two to five years, the DanceWest team will deliver a fun, creative
and playful dance class.
Time: 45 minutes
Team: Delivered by a lead DanceWest artist and assistant dance artist
What happens in the dance class?
• Dance Games
• A fun and energetic dance warm-up with music
• Creative movement tasks with props (For example; Bubbles, Feathers, Scarves,
Parachutes and more!)
• The Happy Birthday dance & song
• Dance stickers
Suggestions
• You can adapt and personalise the class to work with a theme for example;
Dinosaur’s, the Gruffalo, The Jungle Book, Super heroes, prince and princesses.
• We can include favorite songs or pieces of music.
5-10 Years
Learn some fun moves and express yourself with our dance party for children aged 5-10!
The DanceWest team will deliver a fun and energetic dance class perfect to get everyone
moving!
Time: 45 minutes – 1 hour

Choreographer will deliver a fun and energetic dance class perfect to get everyone moving!
Time: 1 hour
What happens in the dance class?

• Learning a choreographic routine
• Creative tasks to develop your own choreography
• A performance of the choreography
• A cool down and stretch
• Dance certificates and presentation

• We can include favorite songs or pieces of music.
• We can take influence from favorite music videos, musicals and recording artists!
• You can step back in time with a 1950’s, 1960’s or 1970’s dance workshop
Questions parents might ask
• What style of Dance is it?
DanceWest have a pool of forty dance artists, all of which are experienced to teach and
deliver dance styles. All of our artists are DBS checked and have their own insurance.
DanceWest delivers classes and projects with a contemporary feel but always combines
styles depending on the artist – let us know if there is a particular style that you are
interested in.
• What to wear?
We recommend that you wear loose comfortable clothing and all classes are delivered with
no shoes – so you don’t need to buy anything to take part.
• Are there changing facilities?
There are spacious bathrooms at the Lyric Hammersmith but no specific changing facilities.

How do we share information on the selected playlist?
Please get this information to the Lyric at least one week ahead of your party and we will do
our best to include this within the session.

• Photographs of DanceWest activities are available upon request.
• DanceWest to supply a biography of the artist delivering the dance class a week in
advance of the party.
• All DanceWest artists are DBS checked copies are available upon request.
• If any of the young people or participants taking part let us know if there are any
access requirements.
